We walk beside children on their faith journey, nurturing their spiritual growth.
Have an infant or baby? Each week during our 9:30 a.m. worship service we offer a Nursery for infants and babies through age 4. The Nursery is located on the lower level below the Sanctuary and is available each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. In addition to attending the 9:30 a.m. worship service, parents can join Coffee Hour and Adult Faith Formation during this time. The Nursery is also available during special events. Our Nursery caregivers, Roya and Leila, are trained and background checked. For directions or for a tour of the Nursery, please ask a greeter, usher, or a member of clergy.

Is the service too long for your child—especially the sermon? Children’s Chapel is offered during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Children can join their parents in the Sanctuary at the beginning of each service, are invited to follow the acolyte with the dove cross to the Chapel prior to the Gospel, and are returned to the Sanctuary for the Peace and Holy Eucharist. During Children's Chapel a children’s book about faith is read and a time for conversation, prayer, and response is given.

Need activities for your child during the 9:30 a.m. service? At the back of the Sanctuary there is a bookcase full of children’s books, paper, crayons, colored pencils, and stuffed animal prayer buddies. These may make the service go by quickly! Please borrow and return at the end of the service. If needed, ask an usher for assistance.

Does your child need a break during the service? God put the wiggles and giggles in children so don’t feel that you must suppress them in God’s house! If your child needs a break, please feel free to leave the Sanctuary and visit the Narthex. There you will find rocking chairs and open space. You can continue to watch the service through the Narthex windows and the video monitors and rejoin the service at any time.

After the worship service? Each week we offer Sunday School programs from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m., including Montessori-based Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Godly Play for children 4 years old through 4th grade, and Faith in Action for 5th and 6th graders. Class locations can be found each Sunday in the worship bulletin. Our Sunday School is a child-centered approach to spiritual development and religious instruction. While your child is in Sunday School, parents can join Coffee Hour or the Adult Faith Formation offering. Questions? Please contact Brynn Pacitti, Director of Children’s Ministries.

Is Sunday morning not a good time or is the service too formal? On the second Saturday of each month, we hold a Saturday Family Service at 5:00 p.m. This is a casual, family friendly service with a children’s sermon and music. Following this service an informal dinner is provided, such as pizza, chicken nuggets, tacos, or pasta. How great not to have to cook dinner on Saturday evening! This service began in February—we hope to see you there!

Do you have a singer (or a child who might be interested in singing) in the family? Our Chorister Program is for children beginning in the 2nd grade. They meet for rehearsal each Thursday and currently participate in the 9:30 a.m. worship service along with the Adult Choir. The Choristers learn about music, liturgy, teamwork, and leadership. Questions? Please contact Dr. David Kelley, Minister of Music.

As part of our ongoing Children’s Ministry, Holy Comforter is proud to offer:
