Dear Church Family,

I pray that everyone is safe and warm during the extremely cold weather conditions.

The winter months are not always a welcome time depending on the weather, whether it rains, snows or floods. There is something sad about being cold and all the flowers and trees dying and shedding their leaves.

To the unsaved, that is symbolic of what their lives are like. The major difference in us and them is that we know after the cold and shedding of the leaves, spring will come and we will be renewed, refreshed and restored. We know that we have the promise that the warmth of the sun will return to re-energize us, the flowers will once again bloom, and we will grow. In the darkest, coldest part of the winter, we know that there will be warmth and light and renewing.

In the book of John Jesus tells us these words of promise and comfort, "I will not leave you . . . I will come to you. Because I live, you also will live."

He goes on to say that the Father has sent the Holy Spirit to teach us all things and remind us of all things.  "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)

Isn't it wonderful that God makes promises and keeps His promises to bring us life and newness, to never leave us nor forsake us and that He sends the Holy Spirit to walk with us?

So following the winter of our spiritual lives comes the spring, and because he lives, we will surely live.

Pray that God will keep our ministry here in the forefront of His mind and that He will continue to bring spring to the lives of the people we are serving in His name that they will be saved.

In Christ,

Pastor Tom

A Layman's Perspective"
Wednesday Evenings
6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Next Class ~ February 25

Veterinarian Don Ragland says he's not a theologian, but his experiences with the living, loving third person of the Trinity have taught thousands of men and women how to draw closer to the Holy Spirit. Now The Holy Spirit: A Layman's Perspective, Ragland develops what started as Sunday school lessons, then workshops and seminars, into a simple, profound, and powerful introduction to the Holy Spirit. Using insight, personal examples, and biblical truth, he and his wife, Jackie, help all who long to know the power of God in their everyday lives.

Pastor Tom's Wednesday evening class will not meet while Don is presenting this course so that as many people as can possible attend this special series. Pastor Tom said, "I assure you a few weeks with Don will increase your perspective on the Holy Spirit in our lives."
