Dear Friends,
Research increasingly affirms that families play a crucial role in fostering positive youth development. A supportive family environment can make a significant difference in helping young people grow into healthy, resilient adults.
At Prevention Links, we recognize the importance of families and provide support through our five Family Success Centers (FSC) in Hudson, Middlesex, and Union Counties.
When you walk into a FSC, you feel like you’re walking into a friend’s living room. The comfortable, family-centric environment is meant to make participants feel at home.
Funded by the New Jersey Department Children and Families (DCF), FSCs offer a variety of free supports to strengthen families and help promote positive youth development. The core services provided by the FSCs include:
- Access to information on child, maternal and family health services, economic self-sufficiency and job readiness
- Information and referral services (connection to off-site public and private resources)
- Life skills training
- Housing services
- Parent education
- Parent-child activities
- Advocacy
Family Success Centers not only help individual families, but also strengthen the entire community. By empowering families with knowledge, resources, and support, FSCs contribute to a healthier, more resilient community where children can thrive and make positive life choices.
Prevention Links’ FSCs collectively serve more than 1,200 families annually. To learn more about our FSCs and how to get involved, visit our website. We are always seeking volunteers and help with getting the word out about this vital community resource.
