I am thrilled to share that during our Church Conference on July 21st, Oak Grove voted to adopt the Simplified Accountable Structure for church leadership. This exciting change will take effect on October 1, 2024.
For many years, our church leadership consisted of four administrative committees: Staff Parish Relations (SPRC), Finance, Trustees, and Church Council. This traditional structure required nearly 50 members to effectively run the four teams. While it ensured thorough decision-making, it also led to duplicated efforts and became a barrier to vital ministry within our congregation.
In the coming months, the Nominations and Leadership Development team will collaborate with our current leaders to smoothly transition to the Simplified Accountable Structure. This shift presents a wonderful opportunity for members to engage in ministries they are passionate about and explore new ways of serving our church community.
I am continually inspired by the movement of the Holy Spirit at Oak Grove and the faithful responses of each of you to God's call.
