A letter to our Beyond Community...
Today, I would like to focus on a different type of letter, a letter of love to our wonderful community. I want to tell you how much I miss your smiling faces and your amazing stories of inspiration, the lives that have been changed and transformed. The undeniable reason that I wanted to create such a space continues to be reflected back to me in these moments of gratitude.
I miss the magic and overwhelming feeling of comfort that pours over me whenever I walk through the doors of Beyond.
I believe that the times on our mat have prepared us for this pause, to ask the questions that strengthen us as a community…where spirituality meets the road of life with love and self care.
What I now choose to focus on is that this too shall pass. That our community will rise after this global rest and we will slowly find our way back to each other. Sitting in our lounge together, sipping on our favorite tea and reflecting on how this experience has made us humble and strong.
I would like to take a moment to thank you for each message of support we have received. Your words of encouragement mean the world to our team. I would also like to extend my gratitude to each of our teachers who have generously offered online classes and videos to assist you with your home practice.
We continue to have each other to look forward to and I am counting down the days until our community can be together again.
Thank you for taking this journey with me. My heart is with your heart.
Namaste.
Tina

There is yoga the experience and yoga the practice, and to eventually have an experience of yoga which we could define as bliss, we need the practice and to keep up with the practice we need motivation and inspiration.
There's a belief that if we
keep up
with our practice, we will be
kept up
by our practice and in my experience this is very true. The good thing is that yoga always meets us where we are. We don't need to be in a good mood or flexible or...we simply need to show up and practice. Plus, there are so many ways we can keep our practice alive.
In the reality of what we are collectively experiencing, examples of daily home practices include:
- Reading a little something that inspires us;
- Spending a little longer meditating;
- Getting fresh air and breathing deeply;
- Appreciating the beauty of nature;
- Attending virtual asana classes or getting on our mat for a few minutes; and
- Because yoga sees all consumption as a form of food, we choose wisely what we feed our mind and with that we give ourself the gift of a daily internet fast. For example, staying off the internet from 8:00PM to 7:00AM (or whatever is realistic for you).
We could choose one of these things and then gradually add on or alternate on a daily basis.
The important thing is to remember that yoga always has something to offer.

HEALTHY RECIPES WITH LEYETTE

A great protein-rich, high-fibre treat! These fudge-y brownies are an absolute favourite of my 'I don't like beans and I'll never eat beans even if they are mashed or hidden in other foods' daughter. Please don't tell her...
