In the Business of Giving
In March, when the world began to quarantine and businesses adjusted to stay afloat, one company transformed their business to help others.
Adfast, a manufacturer of silicone sealants for the construction industry, converted their production line and installed new equipment to produce hand sanitizer and face shields for first responders, hospitals, construction sites, and other manufacturing facilities. Within three weeks, the Adfast team built a new explosion-proof room to produce and deliver hundreds of thousands of hand-sanitizer bottles and thousands of face shields to the community.

The company absorbed the cost of equipment and manpower, and all products are provided at material cost only. The entire staff contributed to the effort. The Doctor of Chemistry and staff chemists ensured that the sanitizer formula met US and Canadian health standards. Sales managers helped box and load the trucks.
Yves Dandurand, Adfast CEO said, "Alone, I couldn't have made this happen. We have an incredible team of dedicated employees that worked day and night for three weeks to supply front-line workers with disinfectants and face shields.”

Dandurand explained “We have no intention to make this a business. It's time to give back now."
