A Few More Color-filled Months

Fall is just around the corner, but even though the growing season is winding down, your landscape can still have a few more color-filled months. A host of fall flowers are available and can make an unexpected, colorful addition to an autumn garden.

When it comes to fall color, plants can either be installed as the summer heat cools down, or established early in the year as part of a longer-term landscape plan. No matter the timeframe, there are a few common options that make adding fall color easy.

Chrysanthemums, familiarly called "mums," are perhaps the most popular fall-blooming garden plants. Offered in nearly every color, mums come in a variety of flower types, making them a versatile addition to any landscape.

Pansies will bloom in both spring and fall, whenever mild nights are complemented by daytime temperatures around 60 degrees. A dependable, hardy plant, pansies come in a range of colors, including mixed color varieties.

These and other fall-blooming plants create the perfect complement to the natural color of the season's deciduous trees. Any additions will brighten your landscape, but for the best show, call U.S. Lawns. We'll design a customized plan to fill your property with color through every season.
