Help us get them home for the holidays!

Greetings!

Forgive the brevity of this message as I'm taking just a few minutes on the road to update you on ARC's current mission.

Macaque in cage.
Macaque in cage - New York

This journey started with an emergency call from our friends at Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary. They were offering sanctuary to two Japanese Snow Macaques from a small zoo in upstate New York that lost its USDA license. Mindy's Memory was pledging to do what they do best: provide life-time expert care, socialization with other monkeys and stimulating positive enrichment. There was only one catch, they needed a qualified organization to step-up and partner with them to get these monkeys safely from New York to Oklahoma - that's where we come in.

We did not have this operation in our budget and there was no time to fundraise - but we simply couldn't turn our backs on these monkeys or our friends.

You cannot put a price on what it will mean for these two monkeys to spend the rest of their lives at a sanctuary. And this transport is not a particularly expensive one... but even a few thousand dollars is a great deal to ARC and more than we have in surplus. Currently, we have borrowed the money from other urgent and planned needs.

This may not have been an easy decision for some, but it was for me, because I knew I could count on you.

Will you please help us help these monkeys? With your support we can finish this 1500-mile journey of compassion. Together we can place these monkeys in the safety of a permanent sanctuary. Together, we can give them their new lives, without jeopardizing other critical needs. I'm counting on you.
