ONLY 100 Cases Imported
At 100 years old, the founder and patriarch, Livio Felluga, was accredited with innovating and mastering modern winemaking in Italy. Back from WWII, he sealed a deep bond with the hillsides of Friuli by reviving the vineyards of Rosazzo, later establishing him as “the patriarch of the wines of Friuli.”
To all Artisans,

We are happy to offer up four delicious new whites wine from Italy's Friuli region, all crisp and mineral-laden, full of complexity and just plain goodness. These hail from the esteemed Livio Felluga winery. Founded in 1956, after Livio Felluga relocated from his native Istria, but the family's winemaking traditions date back to the mid-19th century. Founder and patriarch Livio Felluga is accredited with innovating and mastering modern wine making in Italy. While Felluga passed away in 2016 at the ripe old age of 102, his reputation for creating exceptionally lush, crisp and well-balanced wines extends well beyond the region of Friuli - his wines are recognized the world over as the finest in their categories. Today, the family-owned winery is led by Livio's son, Andrea Felluga.

The 500-acre Livio Felluga Estate includes 370 acres of rolling hillside vineyards in the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli. Friuli's temperate climate, protected by the Alps to the north and moderated by the Adriatic Sea to the south is a winemaker's dream, while its complex marl soils bring a lot of complexity into the wines.

These will pair beautifully with fish, shellfish, risottos, and baked vegetables or simply enjoy them as aperitifs.

These wines are in stock now but quantities are limited, so please place your order promptly!

2021 Livio Felluga "Illivio" Bianco Colli Orientali
Friuli-Venezia Guilia, Italy

Created in 1998 by Livio Felluga’s children, who dedicated the wine to him for his 85th birthday illivio reflects the personality of the family’s “Patriarch”, uniting strength with elegance, this white is a blend of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit.

95 Points - James Sucking:
"Tropical fruit aromas of mangoes and papayas with some fresh lilacs and white peaches. Medium- to full-bodied with dried apples and lemons as well as intense acidity. Tangy and crisp with a racy and energetic finish. Drink or hold." (May 2024)

94+ Points - Vinous:
"The 2021 Illivio, a blend of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Piccolit, takes its time in the glass, sweetly alluring with a tinge of vanilla bean that embellishes fresh sliced peaches. Split pine and mint aromas add contrast. The 2021 soothes with its silky textures and supple character, bending around the contours of the palate as nectarine and bitter lemon rind notes collect under an air of pretty inner florals. Its minerality comes through the finish, classically dry and tense, as Asian pear and exotic spices slowly fade. While already showing beautifully today, the 2021 will show its best after a few years of cellaring." Drink 2025-2032. - Eric Guido (Apr 2023)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2020):
"This blend of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit honors Livio's impact on the region of Friuli and the rest of Italy. Aromas of farmer's market ripe apricot and white nectarine combine with magnolia, honey and almonds in the glass. Full in body, the wine is balanced by ample acidity and shows the beauty and distinct minerality of the Collio Orientali. Drink now–2035."

92 Points - Gismondi on Wine:
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected producers of Friuli, dedicating his life to reviving high-quality and sustainable viticulture in the hills of this north-eastern, Adriatic-influenced Italian countryside. He emigrated from Istria and established his property in Brazzano in the 1950s, buying up old, neglected vineyards and rejuvenating them. Illuvio was created in 1998 by Livio Felluga’s children, who dedicated the wine to him for his 85th birthday. Unlike his signature varietal series, done in stainless, this blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Picolit was fermented and aged in small oak casks on lees. Perfumed white peach, apricot, quince, fresh green herbs, and almond floods the creamy palate, cushioned by wood, but held taut with a brace of stony acidity which carries this through a lingering finish. Quite impressive.

91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A graceful, layered white, fresh and salty on the palate, this offers finely meshed flavors of persimmon, Marcona almond and poached apricot, with delicate notes of lemon thyme and orange peel. Medium-bodied, this expands on the palate and lingers, revealing more salinity on the finish. Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit. Drink now through 2031. 100 cases imported."

92 Points - WE:
"This classic Sauvignon Blanc from Friuli has aromas of fresh pear and apples mixed with lemon and mandarin orange. Notes of yellow and white flowers along with stone and fresh herbs waft out of the glass with a little more time. The palate is layered between vibrant citrus notes and fresh herbal notes finishing with a beautiful structure and clean crisp acidity."

90 Points - WS:
"This vibrant Sauvignon has hints of flint and smoke on the nose underscoring ripe, juicy pineapple and pear fruit, while accents of chive blossoms, peach skin, pink grapefruit zest and graphite linger through the finish. Drink now through 2025. 3,300 cases made, 800 cases imported."

2022 Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio Colli Orientali

92 Points - JS:
"Attractive aromas of nectarines and pears with spices, dried flowers, chalk and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, sleek and juicy, with the textural feeling of ripe stone fruit. Very approachable and seductive. Creamy finish. Drink now. Screw cap."

90 Points - Vinous:
"The 2022 Pinot Grigio is dramatically floral with a sweet spice and mint dusting, giving way to freshly sliced peaches. This flows across the palate with silky textures and a pure blend of ripe peach complemented by sour citrus. It tapers off with admirable length yet clean, leaving a cheek-puckering tinge of candied lemon as the mouth is left watering for more."

2021 Livio Felluga Friulano Colli Orientali

93 Points - JS:
"There is pretty depth and intensity to the friulano with sliced peaches, apricots and subtle pie crust. Sea salt as well. Medium body. Gun metal, flint and matchstick. Reductive in a very positive way. Drink or hold."

91 Points - WE:
"This is a classic example of this amazing grape. Once poured, this wine is in your face with beautiful aromas of yellow peach, tropical fruit and a huge bouquet of flowers. The palate is lush and ripe with apricot flavors that partner with crushed stone and almond. On the finish, the palate is wiped clean by a rush of acidity that keeps the wine fresh."

90 Points - Vinous:
"The 2021 Friulano is wildly fresh, with cucumber and chlorophyll notes offset by a spritz of lime. This soothes with its soft textures as citrus-tinged orchard fruits and zesty spices cascade across a core of brisk acidity. The 2021 finishes perfumed and dramatically long, with tangerine and ginger that linger on and on. There is so much character packed into this entry-level Friulano from Livio Felluga.

90 Points - WS:
"A sleek white, with ripe nectarine and strawberry flavors enriched by hints of vanilla-infused pastry cream and delicate herbs, while orange peel acidity creates a lightly mouthwatering frame. Stony finish. Drink now through 2025. 5,000 cases made, 800 cases imported."
