Dear LTHS Parents/Guardians,
I hope this email finds your family having had a wonderful weekend. Within this week’s communication, you will find information about the proposed school calendar for the 2024-25 school year, this Wednesday’s early release schedule, Homecoming 2023, and the upcoming UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Free Clinic that we are hosting at South Campus.
2024-25 Proposed School Calendar
The LTHS proposed calendar for the 2024-25 school year is currently posted for review. The calendar is available for public preview through October 11. We welcome our community’s feedback regarding the calendar including suggestions and questions. Please send feedback to our Director of Curriculum and Instruction Scott Eggerding at seggerding@d204.lths.net. A recommendation with all feedback considered will be provided to the Board of Education in October.
2024-25 Draft Calendar
School Improvement Day - Wednesday, September 27, 2023
Wednesday, September 27, 2023 is a School Improvement Day which means it is not a late start but is an early dismissal. Wednesday, September 27 is NOT a Late Start Day. School will begin at 7:45am and students will be dismissed at 11:30am.
The early dismissal bell schedule is posted to the LTHS website.
Please note, for this early dismissal, during their lunch period, students go to their A locations (i.e. if a student has lunch during 4A & lunch study during 4B, the student would go to the cafeteria on Wednesday during 4th period because it is an A day).
Homecoming Week (October 10 - 14)
Tickets for the Homecoming Dance will go on sale starting this Wednesday, September 27. Tickets will be available online and in the Student Activities Office at both campuses. For information, visit the Homecoming Dance Page.

Community Conversation Event: Defining Equity & Belonging - September 26, 2023
Come out on Tuesday, September 26 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm to meet LT’s Bilingual Coordinator (Ms. Julie Jacobo) and Director of Equity and Belonging (Dr. Jennifer Rowe) as they lead this community conversation that will help to define these terms and the actions we can take to foster

Improv Comedy- September 28-30
Join us for a performance by LT's improv troupe! The Improv shows So ___ You'll ___ 15: A Tale of __ ___ will take place at the South Campus Performing Arts Center at 7:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. Admission is $10 adults, $5 students/seniors and free for students with LT ID.
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Free Clinic - September 30, 2023
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth will be hosting a free clinic at LTHS South Campus on Saturday, September 30 from 9am-1pm. The clinic is free, open to the public, and is intended to help those who cannot afford their healthcare. Check out this video to learn more about the free clinic. Additionally, the fliers included within this email have important information about the clinic, including medical services that will be provided, as well as a QR Code to sign up for the event (pre-registration is preferred).
