The most important part of the conference is when the community welcomes our immigrant youth and assures them there are many people in Los Angeles are there to support them.

In prior conferences they heard from leaders like Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti, Sen. Maria Elena Durazo, Assembly Member Wendy Carrillo and Councilmember Hernandez, who welcomed our youth to Los Angeles and reinforced that our immigrant youth deserve to feel safe and protected by the city.

About:

Central American Youth Leadership Conference

Why do we have this conference?

Unaccompanied minor keep entering into our communities and they do not have the proper resources to deal with the culture shock. We seek to strengthen our support for Central American and Latino immigrant youth and their families. By creating spaces to support them in their journey of healing from the trauma they have overcome.
