Welcome to the Class of 2028!
It was great to welcome the Class of 2028 to Academic Magnet through the Summer Scholars Program. Our new raptors enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about AMHS while getting to know classmates, faculty, staff, and a number of student leaders. Check out some great photos from the week on the AMHS Facebook page at this link. | Tropical Storm Debby Affects Planned Events
|
Tropical Storm Debby is visiting our area this week, causing cancelations and postponements of a variety of events. Look for updates to the schedule for the rest of the week that should be posted on AMHS social media.
All CCSD athletic events, including practices and tryouts, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week have been postponed.
| |
Last Chance for Schedule, Textbook and Chromebook Pickup
For students who were unable to pickup their schedules, textbooks, and Chromebooks on the scheduled days last week, all remaining students are scheduled to pickup these things on Thursday, August 8 from 9 am to 12 pm. Enter through the Building 7 front entrance. Pickup will be on the World Language Hallway. For more information, contact Ms. GG at kylene_grant@charleston.k12.sc.us or call the school at 843.746.6396. Families are asked to pay student fees on RevTrak as well. See the fees below. |
Note:
AMHS incurs a surcharge by transaction when families pay these fees, so please pay all applicable fees simultaneously in a single transaction.
| |
|
For students who were unable to have their photos taken while picking up schedules, Chromebooks, and textbooks, the make-up portrait day will be on August 26 during school.
Please mark your calendar and make sure your student has a photo taken on that day. Thank you!

School Starts Next Week on Tuesday, August 13:
Welcome Back Letters from Principal Perlmutter
| |
As we prepare to return to school on Tuesday, August 13, Principal Perlmutter has shared the first three of four letters by email with AMHS families. In case you missed them, find them on the AMHS website at this link, and also linked below.
| AMHS School Bus Information |
As a county-wide magnet school, AMHS offers centralized (or parent assisted) bus transportation service. Bus stops are typically within five miles of a student's home. In a document at this link, you can find the AMHS bus stops, route numbers, and times. Additionally, the district’s bus stop look-up tool, bus stop guidelines, and Firstview app (Firstview code for CCSD: GF8G) are all tools that our families find useful. Visit the CCSD webpage on Transportation for more information.
