Thanks to the strong support already received, Downtown Metuchen is so close to competing for $2 million in funding through the "A Community Thrives Contest."

Our project is to add retractable awnings, infrared heaters, metal partitions with laser cut logos, and table and chair sets at woman and minority owned businesses. This will support community building by making Downtown Metuchen a true crossroads for people from our community and throughout our region.

The number of contributions and total amount we raise through crowdfunding will make Metuchen eligible for additional grants from the Gannett Foundation, that will in turn benefit more businesses. Metuchen has moved up to 101 out of 430 organizations competing. We have until this Friday at noon to move up even further in the rankings.
