Mayor Brandon Johnson Visits the 6th Ward

It was a day filled with optimism and promise as we welcomed the esteemed presence of our city's Mayor, Brandon Johnson, who graced the ward with his support and encouragement. Alongside the Mayor, we were honored to have Living Black History represented in the room, embodying the resilience and legacy of our community's past. Additionally, the vibrant energy of our youth illuminated the space, offering hope and inspiration for the future.

Notably, we were privileged to host special guests, including the son of Prince Yasel and the legendary King, Farley Williams, whose presence added to the spirit of celebration and unity.

As we reflect on today's achievements, it's evident that the 6th Ward is growing stronger with each passing day, thanks to the collective efforts of our dedicated residents and partners.

Here's to continued progress and prosperity in our beloved community!

Young People Clean Up Crew

During Spring Break, our new team of young individuals went above and beyond during Clean Up Week.

Despite the rain, these young people worked tirelessly with joy and determination, and the results speak for themselves. Their hard work and commitment have already made a noticeable difference in our community.

I couldn't be prouder of these young individuals for their dedication and perseverance. Not only did they make an honest living, but they also contributed to the betterment of our community in a meaningful way.

Please join me in applauding their efforts and showing our appreciation for their hard work.

6th Ward Community Clean & Green

On March 30th the 6th Ward Clean & Green Team removed trash and debris alongside 69th and King Drive contributing to the beautification of our neighborhood. It was great to see our community come together to make a difference in enhancing our surroundings.

I admired the enthusiasm and hard work demonstrated by our volunteers. Together, we not only cleaned up our streets but also fostered a sense of pride and unity within our community.

If you weren't able to join us this time, don't worry! There will be plenty of opportunities in the future to get involved and lend a helping hand. Whether it's participating in cleanups, volunteering for local events, or contributing in any other way, your support is invaluable in keeping our community vibrant and thriving.

We encourage you to stay tuned for future announcements and consider joining us for our next cleanup event. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact and create a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful neighborhood for all.

Thank you once again to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of our cleanup efforts. Your dedication to our community is truly inspiring!

Veteran Heroes Thursdays

We are thrilled to announce the success of our first Veteran Heroes Thursdays in the 6th Ward held on March 28th! Thanks to your support and participation, we were able to assist 20 veterans in accessing the benefits and essential services they deserve.

Let's keep this impactful journey going strong! Mark your calendars for the next Veteran Heroes Thursday on April 11th. Spread the word and invite your neighbors to join us in supporting our brave veterans.

Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who have served our country proudly.

Community Hope & Career Fair Success!

We're thrilled to share the continued success of our recent Community Job Fair! Thanks to the support of local employers, job seekers, and volunteers, the event was filled with hope, opportunity, and tangible results.

From eight employers in January to over twenty in March, our Job Fair Series has expanded, offering opportunities across various sectors including government, the Post Office, the Chicago Police Department, and more.

Opportunities abound in trades, management, retail, food service, healthcare, construction, and beyond.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making this event a success. Let's continue building a thriving community together. Join us for the next Hope & Career Fair on April 18, 2024, at Hamilton Park.
