6th Annual Pie-Off 2014
"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."
-Mae West

Together, we raised $301 for Burn Camp!

 Thank you.

The pies were delicious. And Creative. And Awesome.

Thanks for choosing Children's Hospital Colorado Burn Camp as the 2014 charity.

Because of the Pie-Off and generous support from the community, we are able to offer this experience at no cost to burn survivors and their families.

is a
rehabilitative camp program for
burn survivors 8-24 and their families.
Supported by a licensed medical staff, campers reprocess traumatic pathways caused by a burn injury in an outdoor setting.

Words from Camp

How does camp change your life?

"I want to be a part of Burn Camp, because it is a part of me.  It has changed my life experience from the 1st yr and every year since.  Each year I take home something new about myself and about the week."

Joy! Contrary to the ads Disney World is not the happiest place on earth. It's burn camp in the Rockies each summer. I find purpose, community and hope at camp. I try to allow full expression and exploration in the arts for every camper.

Support

Who is our staff?

As we learned in staff training, each person on our staff brings a unique set of gifts and perspective that works in harmony with the rest of the staff to create a place for every camper to belong.

Staff include:

Nurses

Occupational Therapist

Physical Therapist

Psychologists

Camp Professionals

Firefighters

Child Life Specialists

Artists

Hospital Liaisons

And when all these people come together with a common goal to build a place where burn survivors can grow and thrive, camp becomes a place where we all belong.

Words from Camp

Why do you return to camp year after year?

"I am ALWAYS renewed by the strength, courage, tenacity, hope, love and determination which is demonstrated every day at camp. You see it in the eyes of each child as they experience camp."

"I love love love all that camp teaches.  I love the opportunity to see love, dedication, hard work and perseverence in action.  I hope to be an inspiration and a learner.  I strive to lead in a manner that encourages growth, and enjoys the moments to savor accomplishment for staff and campers alike."
