IMPORTANT DATES

SmartPass ELECTRONIC PASS SYSTEM COMING TO SLPHS

SLPHS is excited to pilot SmartPass, an electronic pass system beginning Tuesday, April 16th .  The rollout of SmartPass at our school is driven by a commitment to maximize instructional time while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students.  Additionally, SmartPass enhances safety measures, allowing us to monitor and manage access to our campus more effectively.  In the coming weeks, students will learn how to access this electronic pass system using their district issued Chromebook.  Ask your student for more information.

GRADUATION SPEAKERS

FROM THE SLPHS HEALTH OFFICE

Minnesota Department of Health’s recommendations for School Exclusions concerning pink eye:

"No exclusions are recommended, unless the child has a fever or is not healthy enough to participate in routine activities. Antibiotics or a note from a health care provider are not required. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends considering conjunctivitis like the common cold – both diseases are easily spread among children and both resolve without treatment."

MCA MATH TESTING

11th Grade

Tuesday, April 16  & Thursday,  April 18

  • All Grade 11 Math Students

  • Standard Schedule
  • 7 period day
  • 40 minutes per period

  • Most students will test in their current math classrooms.

  • Students attending external   systems (PSEO/Virtual) will be assigned a testing location.

Any student who does not complete their MCA Math test on the initial test dates (4/16 & 4/18) will be included in the make-up testing space on Monday, April 22. We believe this structure will contribute to a positive testing environment for students to allow them to do their best work.

WHY SHOULD STUDENTS TAKE THE MCA?

  • Colleges & Universities can use MCA scores to place students into appropriate level classes. This can help students avoid needing to enroll in and pay for remedial/noncredit courses in college.

  • Park Pride. Low MCA participation & scores impact our community. Prospective residents and business owners view published high school rankings which may include MCA data. We are better than the current data indicates. Let’s Prove It!

  • For the love of food! When you complete the MCA you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a $25 Gift Card from your favorite restaurant (yes, you choose your favorite).

How To Practice Mindful Eating | Change to Chill

CHANGE TO CHILL

Have you heard of mindful eating?

It's the practice of slowing down and taking time to enjoy a meal without distraction. In a world full of stimuli, mindful eating is a way to provide thoughtful attention to what you are feeling and thinking in that moment. This can be a fun way to tap into your inner food critic while reducing stress and anxiety!

This spring, St. Louis Park Public Schools will begin using a new transportation app for parents and caregivers to access updated transportation information for their student(s). In the new app, you can access the information as you did in the previous app.

  • Real-time mapping for school bus arrival for pick-up and afternoon drop-off
  • Easy access to bus information (bus number, bus stop location, and bus stop time)

The new app, My Ride K-12, is available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store now. You can use your existing log-in information (username and password) from the previous transportation app (Traversa Ride 360) to log into the new app or the website.
