CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS NORDIC SKI TEAM

The SLP Girls Nordic Ski Team consisting of Hanna Wilsey, Jersey Miller, Rachel Katzovitz, Addison Chenvert, Ayelel Meyen, Kaylee Crump, Modesty Manion and alternates Maren Wilsey and Ailish Fitzpatrick won the Metro West Conference championship as well as finishing second at the Section 6AA championship meet which qualified them for the MSHSL State championship meet. At the State meet at Giant’s Ridge on 2/15 and 2/16, the team finished in 13th place.  Always an exciting event with a lot of fast skiers, it capped off a great season where the girls put in a lot of hard work.  This is a very talented and driven team, who expect to build on what they have learned and come back stronger next season

Congratulations to Hanna Wilsey for individually finishing in 12th place to earn All-State honors.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

This document outlines the St. Louis Park Senior High Academic Honesty Policy; how teachers support students in understanding what being academically honest is; and how academic misconduct is handled. All work submitted for credit in any class at St. Louis Park High School is expected to be the original work of the student submitting it. If said work is not the original effort of the student, then the student may be guilty of academic misconduct.  SLPHS utilizes an academic honesty policy that is aligned with our International Baccalaureate (IB) programming.  The full document can be found using the link below.

PARENT DROP OFF & PICK-UP

St. Louis Park High School Prides itself on creating a safe environment for all community members. This includes our campus parking lot. Please practice safe driving and remain aware of your surroundings. Parents and caregivers, please make sure to use the front entrance (Door 1) area for drop off & pick up during arrival and dismissal. After school pick up is prohibited in the south lot in front of the athletic entrance (door 15). Use of this lot disrupts our ability to effectively transport students to athletic events and competitions because it causes congestion and buses cannot pass through. Thank you for your cooperation.

SPRING CONFERENCES INFORMATION

Spring Conferences will be held virtually the week of March 13th. Teachers will offer evening times March 13-16, and on March 17 between 8am-3pm. The sign-up information will be sent to all families via email on Wednesday morning, 3/1.

CLEARING UP THE CONFUSION ON STANDARDIZED TESTS

St. Louis Park Middle School and High School have a much higher opt-out rate than neighboring districts. When students opt out of testing, they are marked as “not proficient” by the state, significantly lowering apparent proficiency levels. It impacts everything from students’ college-ready scores and understanding of academic progress to school enrollment and public perception.

We encourage SLP families to continue their learning and understanding about standardized tests before deciding to opt out.

MEDIA CENTER UPDATE
