Fall conferences will be held the week of October 2nd-6th. Teachers will offer virtual conferences in the evenings Monday, October 2nd through Thursday, October 5th. On Friday, October 6th, families will be able to sign-up for in-person conferences with teachers throughout the day. The sign-up process will take place through our Student Support Time App. The sign-up link and information will be sent out on Thursday, September 28th.

PARKING LOT LITTERING

Keeping our school grounds clean is of the utmost importance. We can contribute to keeping it clean by not littering in our parking lot or the surrounding area. If students are found littering this could result in the loss of the students parking privileges. Please refer to our school’s Good Neighbor Policy, as littering also has an impact on neighbors of St. Louis Park High School.

GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY

St. Louis Park High School students are expected to respect our neighbors and not litter, loiter, smoke, trespass, or act inappropriately on or near their property. Failure to do so will result in a Tier 2 intervention designed for restoration.

SPEED LIMIT GUIDANCE

It is imperative for all cars to drive under 10 mph in our school's parking lot. Adhering to this speed limit will help ensure the safety and well being of our students on campus. Going over the speed limit could result in ticketing or loss of parking privileges for students.

STUDENT PARKING UPDATE

On Wednesday, September 20th -SLPHS staff started monitoring the student and staff parking lot. Cars without proper permits were given a warning ticket. Please see below for information regarding violations and potential fines:

Parking Violations and Fines:

  • First Violation: Warning ticket on vehicle, meeting with student, and parent/guardian notification.
  • Second Violation: $25 fine, warning ticket, visit with student and call to parent/guardian alerting them that the next offense will result in the vehicle being towed.
  • Third Violation: The vehicle will be towed and/or the parking permit will be suspended or revoked. If a vehicle is towed, the student or parent/guardian can obtain towing information from the main office.

AP exams are scored from 1 to 5 with 5 the highest score.  Many colleges give credit or advanced placement with a score of 3 or better.

AP exams are given in May. If your student would like to take the AP Exam they need to register and pay for the exam by November 3rd on the Total Registration platform.

VENDING MACHINES - 4 DIGIT PIN

The School Nutrition Department has made some changes to the vending machines at the high school. Now families will need to create a 4-digit PIN for their students to use the vending machines. The 4-digit pin cannot start with a 0. Students will still need to scan their student ID card with the 4-digit security pin.

You will need to create the 4-digit PIN with your Wordware meal account. A family will be able to change their 4-digit PIN if they feel that they need to do so. Click below on the link for step-by-step instructions.

URBAN EDUCATION

Intro to Urban Education

EDU 200: Intro to Urban Education is a concurrent enrollment course offered through Metropolitan State University as part of the pathway to education, and is designed to allow 11th and 12th grade students to explore their own experiences, assumptions, beliefs, motivations and commitments related to teaching and learning in the urban environment while simultaneously earning college credit. Key concepts of the Urban Teacher Program at Metro State introduce educational equity, closing the achievement gap, the importance of high expectations, student and teacher resiliency, and using the community as a resource. On Friday, September 15th, students of EDU 200 utilized the Central Community Center to begin their field experience and to learn about Early Learning in the St. Louis Park community.

High School students enjoyed the morning observing classrooms and engaging with the district's earliest scholars.
