SUNDAY SPECTACULAR
R.A.Y.L. 2017
CHANUKAH
 SPECIAL EDITION

some 'LIGHT' facts

In Yemen, children went from house to house, tins in hand, to collect wicks for the Chanukah Menorah.

In Germany, the eighth and last night of Chanukah used to be very special. All the leftover wicks and oil were lit in giant bonfires. People sang songs and danced around the fire, often until the small hours of the night.

"Gelt" is a Yiddish term for "money".

CHECK THIS OUT!

These were found on the back wall of the gym. When Mrs. J. decided to use the gym's chimney as a prop, we cleared out the entire back wall. Heres we found the names of the Color War teams from the original camp that owned it. (always green and gray, the winner in caps and on top) with the scores next to the teams. On the left you can make out teams from the 1930's and on the right from the 1940's and 1950's. The camp used to be called Camp Rosemont and the initials are of course CR. Sound familiar?

QUESTION OF THE WEEK?!?!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RANINU MEMORY?
answers:

Chani Hershkovich: singing by meals like crazy
Zehava Zweig: Playing the Shabbos morning game

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION?
