April 27th:
As we look to the return of your students to full-time in person instruction on Wednesday the 28th we wanted to reach out and share some important details. First, on Tuesday, April 27th, all 5th and 6th grade students will have an asynchronous learning day (Learning from home day). Your child’s teacher will send home communication about the learning expectations for students for Tuesday. The teacher will provide resources and initial guidance, but the teacher will spend the day ensuring that they are prepared for all students return to in-person learning. Thank you for your support and flexibility as we work to adjust classroom seating, scheduling, recess, breakfast, and lunch procedures.
April 28th:
All 5th and 6th grade students return to full-time in person.
Breakfast:
5th and 6th grade students will not eat breakfast in their classrooms. Students who arrive from 8:15-8:40 will go directly to the multipurpose room to eat breakfast. Students will be seated 6 feet apart from their peers.
Lunch:
All 5th and 6th grade students will be served lunch in their classroom. Because our 5th grade classes are closer to 21 students in a classroom, students will be taught how to slightly adjust their seating to ensure that they are 6 feet apart while eating.
After being served lunch in the classroom, Half of 5th/6th grade combo students and half of 6th grade students will be rotated to the multipurpose room and the other half will eat in their classroom. Your child’s setting for lunch will be rotated every week. This allows for the 6 foot distancing needed for eating lunch.
