Grace

Please enjoy today’s devotional message on Grace from Suzanne Beard.
Exodus 34:6
The Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

Ephesians 2: 8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God—not the result of works, so that no one may boast.

When we ponder the word grace, we might think about a graceful ballet dancer, a gracious host, a prayer at meals or maybe even a grace note (for you musicians). But what is God’s grace and what does that mean for us as a Christian?

God’s grace can be defined as a gift given but not deserved. It is also a gift given with delight and a generous spirit.

Are there things in our life that are in need of God’s forgiveness or “Amazing Grace”? Hurtful words said, selfishness, silent spiteful thoughts, turning our back on a friend or even someone we don’t consider a friend.

God’s grace is present. He is waiting on us to ask for forgiveness. Most profoundly, it was by God’s grace and unwavering love that He sent Jesus to die on the cross for us, for our imperfect lives, for our sins.

God’s grace is there for all of us. All we have to do is ask.

Dear Lord, thank you for your gift of GRACE, this offering which I in no way deserve to receive. Forgive me my sins and help me keep my gaze on you and the sacrifice of your Son on the cross. In your holy Name I pray. Amen.
