Lunch & Learn- Never Forget - 9/11 Memorial and Museum

Join speaker, Noah Rauch, from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as he joins us remotely from New York. Hear how the memorial and museum came to be and the elements one would see during their time at the memorial. This presenter will be joining us via Zoom. Attendees will meet in person for the interactive presentation and lunch. Doors will open at 11:50 am. 

Dog's Day Out

This class introduces twelve healthy behavior practices that encourage optimal aging throughout the lifespan. The twelve keys of optimal aging include: positive attitude, eating smart and healthy, physical activity, brain activity, social activity, tuning-in to the times, safety, know your health numbers, stress management, financial affairs, sleep, and taking time for you.

Pickleball

Fall Paddle Battle 18+ Tournament

Join us for a day of outdoor pickleball fun! Divisions available for gender and mixed doubles. All players must be 18 years of age by 12/31/23. Space is limited and tournament is expected to fill quickly. The registration deadline is Sept. 22.

50 Plus Paddles & Pies Tournament

Powell Community Center

$36 per player


Do the pickleball wobble before you gobble! In partnership with Mission Parks & Recreation join in on a fun, one day social pickleball tournament. Tournament includes gender and mixed divisions for beginning players and lunch. Prizes presented to first, second, and third place in each division. Great tournament for new or social players! Preregistration is required. Tournament deadline is Friday, October 11.

Instructor Highlight

Meadowbrook Park pickleball instructor Grace Jaworsky played in the PPA (pro pickleball tour) event that was here in Kansas City. She took gold in both mixed doubles and women’s doubles! Congratulations, Grace!
