Recipe: Sheet Pan Italian Sandwiches

Planning a party? Feed a crowd fast!

Ingredients for 14 servings

4 tbsp melted Butter

2 loaves sliced Bread

1 lb. smoked Pit Ham, sliced

1/2 lb. sliced Hard Salami

1/2 lb. sliced Mozzarella

1/2 lb. sliced Provolone

2 cups baby Spinach

1 jar mild or hot Giardiniera

Parmesan and chopped parsely, for garnish

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 F. Brush half of the butter on a sheet pan, then lay bread in a single layer, overlapping slices to look like shingles. Make sure the entire pan is covered. Press on bread to flatten slightly.
Top the bread with mozzarella, then layer ham, spinach, salami, giardiniera, and provolone on top. Shingle another layer of bread on top, then brush with the remaining butter. Put a second sheet pan on top of the bread and weigh it down with a heavy skillet or other weight.
Transfer to the oven and bake until the sandwich is pressed, about 10 minutes. Remove the top sheet pan and bake for about 20 minutes more, until the top bread is golden.
Garnish with parsely and Parmesan. Cut into squares and serve.

The 13th Annual Taste in Cumberland was held on Monday, July 26 at the Cumberland Golf Course. This event was a great time as always and featured a wide variety of local food and drinks, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Barron County.
