Photo of the Week: Moot Beit Din Team Takes the Trophies!

Kehillah’s Moot Beit Din team last week took home both the first- AND second-place awards in the national Maimoinides’ Moot Court Competition!

The event is run by the Hadar Institute, and Kehillah has participated alongside similar schools and non-school-based teams from around the world for the past six years. Last year, for the first time, Kehillah had a large enough team that we needed to split into two teams, competing in separate groups. This year, we once again fielded two teams at the suburban New York City event, but instead of competing in separate groups, we had to compete against each other in addition to the other schools.

Fortunately – with support from Jewish Studies teacher Moshe Goodman and Jewish Studies Dean Shifra Elman – our teams were well-prepared, and the students developed a convincing decision that was thoroughly thought out. As a result, we brought home both 1st and 2nd place awards, earning Kehillah’s fourth Moot Bein Din national championship in the last six years!

Congratulations to Veronica Galanter, Charlotte Kofman, Dov Morris, Mayan Moses, Chava Roy, Tziporah Walfish, Isaac Zucker, and Zalman Zucker!!!

Updates and Announcements

Senior Projects on Social Media!

Friday, April 19 marks the last day of classes for our Seniors. Instead of rejoining us after Passover Break, they will begin their Senior Projects, which are out-of-school internships that act as a stepping stone to life after high school. Whether they will be affirming their intended career path, preparing to join the workforce, or learning about new options, our students will be using this opportunity to learn more about themselves and their future careers.

As a new requirement this year, Seniors will be asked to share photos and updates from their Projects. We will be sharing these updates on our social media pages throughout the summer. Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to learn more about what they got up to during these month-long internships!

After the application review exercise, students can meet with college admission representatives from around the country at the college fair.
