Teddy Lorusso '26 was last week's athlete-of-the-week. In his nomination, Coach Cosgrove said, "Our team's leading scorer, Teddy recorded back-to-back career high goal-scoring efforts (4 goals a piece) in AMHS's games last week against Philip Simmons and Effingham (GA). He leads by example on and off field despite being only a sophomore. Teddy plays hard for every ball, has a high lax IQ, is very coachable, and is a gifted athlete. More importantly, he is a solid young man of exemplary character. His ability to remain calm under pressure, to survey defenses, his change-of-speed on drives to the net, and his accurate, hard shot serve as an example for our predominantly new-to-the-sport roster. It was these reasons he was named a captain this year, and we look forward to Teddy further developing his game, helping lead this team in the years to come." | |
