Dear Friends,
Regarding PACC's study session on airplane noise, per Council's Procedures, a study session is described as follows:
- Study Sessions are meetings during which the Council receives information about City business in an informal setting. The informal study session setting is intended to encourage in-depth discussion and detailed questioning and brainstorming by Council on issues of significant interest, including City policy matters, zoning applications, and major public works projects. The Council may discuss the material freely without following formal rules of parliamentary procedure. Staff may be directed to bring matters back for future Council consideration as no action can be taken at a study session. The Decorum rules still apply to the behavior of the Council and public.
It is an open and public session starting at 5:15 pm.
Meeting ID: 362 027 238 Phone:1(669)900-6833
We hope to hear a robust discussion because this may be the most informed group of Councilmembers on airplane noise. Some were in office or running for office when Nextgen and Sky Posse began, and or have heard from so many of us. We are looking forward to hearing their ideas, and their positions about how they can lead on this issue, also a City 2022 Community Health priority.
-
Sky Posse requests: 1) address the jurisdictional and legal issues that prevent progress; 2) explore a city jet noise complaints app, 3) pursue the unanimous Select Committee recommendations that can help the MidPeninsula.
If we didn't address issues that you would like to have considered, please send PACC a written comment ahead of the meeting, to City.Council@cityofpaloalto.org. or look to make a public comment which we believe happens at the Chair's discretion or approximately just after a staff presentation on the topic.
