Dear Lynne,
It has taken me several days to find my feet once I returned from South Africa. What a whirlwind trip it was, so much to see and so little time! Above is a Bushman painting dated as 20,000 years old. Below is the Sunrise at the Drakensberg, where we spent 4 glorious days, hiking and eating, not to mention the peace and tranquility that this place afforded us. Both images are from the Drakensberg.
This is a short newsletter, just to let you know that I am back and that you can place your orders once more. My travels took me to Durban, The Drakensberg, Cape Town, The Karoo (where we saw all the daisies blanket the earth with it's bright colours), and Hermanus, where we watched as the whales were playing in the surf, it is a breeding ground where the mothers keep their calves for several months before heading out to sea again.
Arriving in Durban there was minimal jet lag, but coming home, I have been dragging for several days and clearly feeling my age. Although it was winter in South Africa, the flowers were blooming and a sweater was all that was needed, at least for me. The Karoo (desert) was another story, where during the day temperatures reached into the 90's, but the night dipped down into the 30's. That was cold!
I have only entered 3 new titles, in an effort to get going. More shall come as time passes. I have also come home to my beautiful Clematis, cascading with white flowers, looking more beautiful that ever.
The 3 titles presented to you here are Glarth Clark's "Free Spirit" and Clare Twomey's "Possibilities & Losses, transitions in clay", and last but not least a catalog of Viola Frey's work.
I hope you find something that you are looking for, if not in this newsletter then visit our website, www.CeramicArtsLibrary.com where there is bound to be something that might catch your eye.
Take a look at the FEATURED BOOKS on the left side of my website. I will be changing that on a weekly basis, mostly on a Saturday or Sunday, so do come back and check out some titles which you might have missed before www.ceramicartslibrary.com
