USHER COORDINATOR

There is a fun opportunity waiting for you if you want to become better acquainted with Second Presbyterian folks and do not want to go to meetings: be of service to Second by becoming our next Usher Coordinator. It is a position that requires only a few organizational skills. If you are interested, contact Betsy Foster at 865-406-4800.

PASTOR TIM’S THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY is in the Barbour Room at 12:00 p.m. this Thursday. We will be looking at the book of Nehemiah.

This will be the final Thursday Bible Study for the fall and we will resume in January. Stay tuned for the specific date.

Last week we opened our stewardship pledge period, a time when friends and members of our congregation are asked to prayerfully consider our response to God’s call for our congregation – and our response to God’s abundance in our lives.

You should have received a pledge card in the mail.

Please consider how you can help support the mission and ministry of the 2nd Presbyterian Church with your financial pledge.

On our Commitment Sunday, November 20^th, you will have the opportunity to offer this pledge card during the worship service. Alternatively, there is the option of making your pledge online through a link on the church website.

CASWELL MANOR

Caswell Manor will be VMC’s second permanent supportive housing site with 48 one-bedroom apartments each with a private kitchen and bathroom. Permanent supportive housing works to solve chronic homelessness. Caswell Manor will build on the success of Minvilla Manor to place more people in permanent, stable housing. VMC and its community partners will offer all the necessary services to ensure a positive, lasting, cost-effective outcome.

Bins are in the Atrium for donation drop-off. Donated items should be new.

Below is a Wish List for Caswell Manor's 48 apartments to come online soon. Help make our neighbors feel welcome as they move into their NEW HOME!

If you like to shop, this month (NOVEMBER), the FISH Pantry mission is in special need of the following household and personal items:

* DEODORANT

* DISH SOAP

* SHAMPOO

Our once-a-month FISH team receives phone call requests for food and these additional items; they are then sorted, packed, and delivered to each client's household.

All donations should be newly purchased, and any quantities would be greatly appreciated.

Feel free to contact the church office at 865.523.2189 or bsmith@2ndpres.org, if you have items you would like to drop off at the church.

WE ASK YOU TO NOT DONATE FOOD (other than for pets).

Also, note that we have plenty of the following items for now: Bath soap, toilet paper, and adult and children's diapers, so we do not need more of those items at this time.
