Lawndale Arts Festival
Aug 8th from 11am - 7pm at Douglass Park the annual Lawndale Art Festival will provide a day full of culture, performances and community activities.

Riot Fest 2022 Neighborhood Admission Registration
Every year, Riot Fest welcome area residents to attend the festival September 16–18, free of charge.
A tent will be set up near the corner of Ogden Ave. and S. Sacramento Dr. in Douglass Park.
Please bring:
✶ Driver’s License, State-Issued ID, or Passport
✶ 2 pieces of official mail showing proof of residency (i.e. recent bank statement, utility bill, insurance card, pay stub)
In order to receive free admission, residents must meet the following requirements:

✶ Must live within four block radius of Douglass Park
✶ Boundaries are W. Arthington St. to the north, S. Spaulding Ave. to the west, W. Cermak Rd. to the south, and S. Rockwell St. to the east.
✶ In order to qualify, residents must register for free admission prior to the event.

CO-ED Youth Soccer Clinic
Join the 10th District Police at their youth soccer clinic on July 23rd from 10am to 12 pm at Douglass Park Soccer Field.

10th District National Night Out
Join the 10th District Police at the Annual National Night Out Event on August 2nd at 4 pm. The event is open and free to the community and will be a night to remember with food, DJ, dunk tank, bounce houses, face painting, giveaways and so much more.

CDOT announced details for Bike Chicago, a new program that will provide 5,000 free bikes, as well as maintenance and safety equipment, to Chicagoans.
Online and paper applications will be accepted beginning July 18th at 11am and until August 4th at 11:59pm, and bike distribution will begin in August. For more information, please visit www.chicago.gov/bikechicago.

City of Chicago Home and Business Protection Program
If you live in or operate a business in Chicago you can now apply to receive reimbursement for your security cameras and other security devices. Since the offer is "first-come, first serve", we encourage people who want to buy cameras to do so now.
The rebate includes:
- Up to $225 per camera for a maximum of 2 cameras
- Up to $150 per year of subscription costs for cloud-based video storage systems
- Up to $100 per light for a maximum of 2 lights
- Up to $50 per vehicle GPS tracking device for a maximum of 2 devices
- Up to $120 per one year of subscription costs for GPS tracking applications

COPA Announces Updated Data Dashboards | |

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) has updated its data dashboards, in an ongoing effort to build trust with the community through real-time data access.COPA’s updated data dashboards provide the public with more detailed and accessible information via multiple categories including:
Complaints: Allegations of misconduct submitted by members of the public, Chicago Police Department members, and/or anonymous complainants.
Allegations: A detailed breakdown of allegations by Police District and Allegation Type.
Demographics: Allegation categories by race and/or sex.
Closed Cases: A detailed breakdown of closed COPA investigations.

The Impact Culinary Program, in partnership with Chef Rick Bayless, is now recruiting for its next cohort which begins on Monday, August 8th at The Hatchery. The program is geared towards out-of-school youth aged 16-24 years old who are available for a total of 12 weeks. The first 8 weeks are classroom-based Monday through Thursday 9 am – 4 pm and the following 4 weeks are internship-based at various restaurants throughout the city.
