Dear Parents and Players,
Albany Power is happy to announce tryouts for the 2022-2023 Winter Box Program (Formerly Junior FireWolves Lacrosse). Players in the Power Winter Box program will participate in 12 practices at the Hudson Valley Community College Turf Box Facility and participate in 3 winter box tournaments.
It has become clear, over the course of the last decade, that box lacrosse can serve as an important skill-development tool for field players at every position area. "There are so many skills in the box game that can carry over to the field game to help young players develop" (Thorpe, R. 2021).
Winter Box Program Details:
Practice Site: Hudson Valley Community College Turf Box Facility
Number of Practices: 12 for each team
Tournaments: 3 Tournaments per team (2 for Novice)
Program Cost: $850
