21 Days of HUBZone

This is just one of the ways the Council and its members were able to G.I.V.E. (Gift, Impact, Value, and Elements) in 2021.

GIFT. The Gift that keeps giving is the 15 Member Small Business Administration (SBA) Mentor Protégé Agreements. The Council takes great pride in working with our membership to develop new strategies and relationships to build their business such as the SBA’s All Small Mentor Protégé Program (ASMPP). This is the gift that keeps giving – it can last up to six years. We wish to recognize our SBA mentor protégé members in 2021.

IMPACT. Contract Officers can select from the 184 highly qualified HUBZone companies with mentor protégé agreements. These agreements are helping to dispel the myth that only large businesses can successfully prime complicated and innovative contracts. These Agreements have increased HUBZones’ capacity to obtain and support government contracts in over 50 NAICS codes.

VALUE. This program develops strong protégé enterprises through mentor-provided business development assistance, and to help them successfully compete for government contracts. Additionally, the ASMPP enhanced the ability of Protégé firms to remain competitive in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

MENTOR

PROTÉGÉ

ELEMENT. A detailed Mentor Protégé application must be submitted including how the mentor and the protégé will collaborate (plans, timeline, metrics, etc.). Upon SBA approval a HUBZone company may request mentor assistance in the following areas: Management and Technical Assistance; Financial Assistance; Contracting Assistance; International Trade Education; Business Development Assistance; and General and/or Administrative Assistant.
