Hello Everyone!

Now that the summer has arrived, I wanted to update you all on my second Honduras internship as well as inform you on my upcoming plans. This season of my life is so exciting and full of opportunities to show the love of Jesus to those in Honduras and in the inner city of Buffalo.

For my second internship, I was in Honduras from the beginning of May until the end of June. During the internship, I traveled to different cities in Honduras with the Love Honduras team holding children’s programs, and evangelistic campfires. We also did street ministry in the red light district, hospital ministry, prison ministry, and church services. We hosted teams from Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Guatemala. They joined us on our trips to cities throughout Honduras. I could not possibly recount all of the amazing things the Lord did in these cities, but I wanted to share a testimony.

At the end of June, Love Honduras and a missions team from Indiana traveled to a city called San Pedro Sula to spend the week ministering and serving alongside a daughter church of Passion for the Souls. Passion for the Souls is the church we consistently partner with in Honduras, and we decided to spend an entire week with one of their church plants that is a few hours away from the capital city of Honduras.

The team from Indiana was so large, we divided the team into three smaller teams: a children’s ministry team, an evangelism team, and a youth ministry team. My two friends from Honduras and Guatemala and I were leaders of the youth team. Our team visited high schools all over San Pedro Sula to do special youth services inside of the schools. Everyday we did two programs and sometimes had as many as three hundred students attend. Sometimes it was difficult to keep the teenagers engaged and paying attention. However, by the end of each program, we had teenagers crying in the presence of the Holy Spirit in the arms of each of our team members. God sent our team to show the deep love of the Lord to each teenager we saw.

One day, we went to a school to do a youth service, and because there was limited space, we had to do the service in the street. It began to slightly rain, but the school administration allowed us to still have our program. At this point in the week, we had done about six youth programs. We had to work to keep the youth’s attention throughout the programs that week. At this school, however, we had youth crying from the very start of the program. We decided to change the order of the service while the service was happening because the Spirit of God was already moving in a powerful way. Our team performed a skit, and I had the opportunity to preach the final message and do invitations for salvation and prayer. While I was preaching, I felt there was a specific need for the youth to be free from depression and anxiety so they could be filled with a boldness to preach and spread the Gospel in their schools, communities, and families. There was a special anointing to send out the generation to make an impact in their city. Many prophetic words were given to specific youth to go to hard places to spread the Gospel as well as encouraging words to the teachers of the school. We had students crying and laid out in the Spirit right on the tarp outside of their school in the rain.

After the service, I went to thank the administration for allowing us to continue with our program despite the rain. The teacher began to tell me that it was their first time in the school doing a program. She told me it was difficult to get the teenagers to focus during times of prayer and worship in the past during school. It was as if they did not want anything to do with the prayer time during school. She was shocked how quickly the students began to respond in the service, and she felt there was a major breakthrough in their school and in the students’ lives. She expressed over and over how grateful she was we were able to come to her school.

This is just one of the many stories I have from my time in Honduras. I am incredibly blessed and grateful for the opportunities I am given by the Love Honduras staff and leadership to serve and minister in different areas of Honduras.

I have now been in Buffalo for five weeks. We started our busy summer of nonstop ministry in the beginning of July, and we have already seen the Spirit of God move in powerful ways within our team and in the communities of the inner city of Buffalo, and we are only two weeks in. Our team is doing four children’s outreaches a week, giving away free groceries multiple times a week, doing work projects at the church and outreach center, and we are doing street ministry downtown and on one of the most dangerous streets in the city. Everywhere we go, the light and love of Jesus shines brightly. We are seeing children and adults give their lives to Jesus and receive healing in their bodies and minds.

In the second week of this summer, our team was at a senior’s apartment complex giving away free groceries alongside a team from Pittsburgh. I was placed in a group with one of our summer interns and a youth from the Pittsburgh team to help carry the people’s groceries up to their apartments. A lady and her daughter came up to the line to receive her groceries, and while we were carrying their groceries up to their apartment, I held the lady’s arm while she walked with a cane. It was obvious she was in a lot of pain, and it was difficult for her to walk. As we were walking, I was speaking with the lady, and she told me she had arthritis in both of her knees. She already had knee replacement surgery in one of her knees and the doctor’s were now saying she needed another one for her other knee. When we reached her apartment with her daughter, I began to share my personal testimony of healing that the Lord performed in my body. I was also able to share the Word of God with her to build her faith. I asked if we could pray with both of them, because we learned her daughter had arthritis in both of her knees as well.

We began to pray for both of the ladies right there in their living room. After we prayed for both of them, I asked them to start to walk and move their knees in ways they could not have done before. The lady began to walk throughout her apartment without my help or her cane! She said she had not been able to walk that easily in a long time! Her daughter began to bend her knees and touch her toes with little pain as well. I encouraged them to continue to speak the Word of God over their bodies. When it was time to leave, they gave us all big hugs and were saying, “I love you” over and over again. By meeting a physical need in their lives with free groceries, God opened a door to demonstrate His love and power through healing their bodies!

I want to thank everyone for your continued support in my life as a missionary to Honduras and the inner city of Buffalo. It is a blessing to be able to live out the call of God in my life through your financial and prayer support. I will be in Buffalo for the summer as we continue our summer ministries, and I will return to Honduras in September for about three weeks. For the first half, I will be returning to La Mosquitia, the rainforest, and during the rest of my time I will be traveling to Guatemala alongside our team in Love Honduras. Please consider supporting me as I continue full time ministry in the places God is calling me to go!

As I serve in full time ministry, I rely on the support of people like you who partner with me.  Please consider giving a financial gift as I reach people of Honduras and the inner city with the Gospel.  If you are interested in being a part of what God is doing, you can support me in two ways. If you would like to receive a tax receipt for your gift, you can Venmo the Buffalo Dream Center (@Buffalo-DreamCenter) and write in the memo “Anna Jones Support”. If you would prefer to support me directly, you can give to my personal Venmo (@annacaris). Another way you can give is by sending your gift in the mail in the enclosed envelope. Please make your check payable to the Buffalo Dream Center.

Thank you all again for all of your support as myself and our teams in Buffalo and Honduras bring the transforming love and power of Jesus to people.

God Bless You,

Anna Jones
