People of faith, faith leaders, and people working in the HIV and AIDS response are invited to attend a hybrid Faith Pre-Conference to the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA) to discuss and develop strategies to access and strengthen the capacity of houses of worship and faith-based organizations who are engaged or wish to engage in efforts to end the HIV epidemic.
This year's preconference theme is: "Moving Faith Forward in the South to End the Epidemic" In alignment with the USCHA theme: "Southern Joy," the focus of this preconference will be on the experiences of people in the Southern region of the U.S. and the role of faith in combating HIV-related stigma and discrimination in the South.
The preconference will include a keynote address by Robert Suttle! Robert Suttle, M.S., is a consultant and expert advisor confronting critical issues such as HIV criminalization, stigma, and discrimination, with a focus on equity and social justice. Robert chairs The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation Council of Justice Leaders and is a Global Advisory Panel (GAP) member of the HIV Justice Network. He is also a co-founder of The Sero Project. Additionally, Robert authored the foreword for Alexander McClelland's book, "Criminalized Lives: HIV and Legal Violence."
