Dear Friend,
It’s around this time of year that I start to feel cabin fever – the press of loneliness following the holidays in the cold and windy landscape of Middle Park. Sometimes I need a good reminder to get out of the cabin (and the office) and get on a trail, to enjoy the sunshine of a winter’s day and explore what it has to offer.
Many of us live here for the snowy season and could probably seek places with shorter winters if we wanted to.
Many more are visitors, holding a stake in the future of Grand County through a family home or a pass to the ski resort.
We all love being here for the beauty of the snow-covered landscape and all the activities that we can do with it, whether on skis or on snowshoes, in the backcountry or right outside our front door.
It is part of the land trust’s mission, vision, and values to protect this place, and we can only do it with your help.
. . . a place feels beautiful to us when we feel integral to it –
a part of it in some way.
Where we live matters and how we care for it matters more. By supporting the land trust, a local organization whose mission it is to protect the place we love, you are integral to this place. You prove that you care deeply for our home in the mountains.
Your support of the land trust is support of this place and its future.
