2024 Mill & Overlay and Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project

The 2024 Mill & Overlay and the Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project is identified in the Capital Improvement Plan (PDF) for maintaining and extending the longevity of the existing roadway infrastructure throughout the city.

The construction schedule for the next two weeks are as follows for Phase 2 Streets (Spruce Hill Court, Boulder Circle, and the following intersections off Smithtown Road: Virginia Cove, Boulder Circle, Howard's Point Road, Cajed Lane, Fairway Drive, Ayrshire Lane, Star Lane, Christopher Road):

June 18-21:

• Concrete curb pouring for spot repair locations. This work will start on Spruce Hill Court on Tuesday, then the crews will move to the locations off Smithtown and end with Boulder Circle.

June 24-28:

• Asphalt patching in front of spot curb repair locations and driveways.
• Milling for Phase 2 streets.
• Mainline bituminous paving for Phase 2 streets.

Project Information

• Concrete curb repairs, sanitary and storm sewer casting adjustments, irrigation/dog fence repairs, driveway paving, topsoil repairs and seeding have been completed for Phase 1 Streets.
• This work is weather pending and will be performed the following day if rain delays occur.
• Construction working hours are 7 AM - 7 PM.
• All roads under construction will be open to local traffic only. 
• There will be days where street parking will not be available. The Resident Project Representative will inform you of these dates as they arise.
• Please watch small children and animals carefully around all construction activities.
