2024 Mill & Overlay and Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project

The 2024 Mill & Overlay and the Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project is identified in the Capital Improvement Plan (PDF) for maintaining and extending the longevity of the existing roadway infrastructure throughout the city.

The construction schedule for the Week of May 13 is as follows:

*Please note: if weather issues arise, the work will be performed the following day

May 13: Construction began with concrete curb and driveway removals on Whitney Circle, Chestnut Court, Oakview Court, and Bracketts Road.

May 14: Concrete curb pouring on Whitney Circle, Chestnut Court, Oakview Court and Bracketts Road is scheduled.

There is a 7-day cure time for the concrete to harden. If the concrete curb has been removed in front of your driveway, access to your driveway will be restored after the 7 days. Contact the resident project representative for questions on access and parking.

May 15-17: Potential topsoil replacement behind the curb removal locations on Whitney Circle, Chestnut Court, Oakview Court and Bracketts Road.

Phase 1 Streets have been updated

The project will be performed in phases, with work on the mill and overlay streets being performed first. All work on the first phase of streets will be completed before work on the next phase begins. The first phase has been updated to include the following streets:

• Bracketts Road
• Chestnut Court
• Maple Street
• Oakview Court
• Whitney Circle

If you live on a Phase 1 Street, please do not park on the street during concrete activities on May 14th.

Project Information

• Construction working hours are 7 AM - 7 PM.
• All roads under construction will be open to local traffic only. 
• There will be days where street parking will not be available. The Resident Project Representative will inform you of these dates as they arise.
• Please watch small children and animals carefully around all construction activities.
