2024-2025 COMPETITION DANCE TEAMS INFORMATION SESSION/AUDITIONS

Information session and Auditions for our 2024-2025 season company (also known as competition) dance teams will take place

Tuesday, May 28-Wednesday, May 29, 2024 (both days required). 

***If you are at all interested in being on one of our competition dance teams, please attend the audition - you are not committed to competition dance by attending the audition. 

***If you are interested in competition dance but cannot attend the audition, please speak to Miss Lyn for make up audition dates.

SCHEDULE

• Parent & Dancer Information Session will take place the first 15 minutes of your respective audition time on Tuesday, May 28 (classes broken down by age below). Each dancer must have 1 parent attend the Information Session in order to participate in the remainder of the audition.
• The audition is 2 days, Tuesday, May 28-Wednesday, May 29. Dancers are to attend both days of the audition.

Times:

4:30-5:30 ~ 2nd-3rd grade dancers (based on 2023-2024 school year)

5:45-7:00 ~ 4th-6th grade dancers (based on 2023-2024 school year)

7:15-8:30 ~ 7th-12th grade dancers (based on 2023-2024 school year)

DANCER EXPECTATIONS

• Audition attire – leotard and tights, bootie shorts optional. Hair in bun. Bring all dance shoes, including ballet slippers, jazz shoes, and tap shoes, and any other dance shoes you might have.
• Arrive early and ready to dance.
• This will be ran as a formal audition. Remain professional through the duration of both audition days.
• Be respectful to the other auditionees and the audition directors.

CLASS PLACEMENTS

Dancers will be placed on a Competition Dance Team after they have completed their audition. Class placements are determined by many factors. Notifications will come via U.S. mail. Dancers are fully accepted onto the competition team after they have completed 8 summer dance classes of their choice, registered for 2024-2025 classes, and their 2023-2024 (previous year) dance account is paid in full.

*You may register for 2024-2025 classes (September 2024-May 2025) online through your Jackrabbit account (on studio homepage) beginning Monday, June 10, or in person at the dance studio in June, July, and August DATES AND TIMES TBD. If you choose to register online, hard copies of additional information will be sent to your address on file on your Jackrabbit account or sent to you via email. If you have any questions regarding what classes are available for your dancer, we recommend coming to an in person registration at the dance studio where we can give you the most helpful information possible. AUGUST CLASSES/CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Competition dancers will be required to participate in a choreography workshop August 5-8, 2024. Specific days and times TBD based on class placements - a final schedule will be announced as early as possible, but leaving all days free is encouraged. During this time dancers will be working on technique and learning competition dances for the 2024-2025 season, so if you are unable to attend you cannot participate in the competition class this season. Please notify Miss Lyn (smulcahy@woh.rr.com) or Miss Meghan ASAP of any schedule conflicts that week so we can do our best to set class times accordingly.    

After workshop week competition classes will meet once weekly until regularly scheduled dance classes begin on September 3, 2024. August weekly class schedule TBD.
