Aspen
Aspen is the high school district's student information system. You can view your student's schedule, grades, attendance, and bus route, as well as fill out required forms.
Log into your parent Aspen account to view your student's schedule and bus route information. Freshmen Aspen and school email accounts have been created, and the login information is listed in the parent Aspen account under the Technology tab.
If you have trouble with your Aspen account, please get in touch with our database manager, Mrs. Sherri DiMarcello, at sdimarcello@nhvweb.net.
Aspen website
Students need to access Aspen using the AASP button on the Aspen login screen; they no longer log in using a username and password. It will authenticate them through their school Google account.
| | |
|
Chromebooks
Incoming Freshmen and transfer students who accept a district-issued Chromebook will be provided with one, along with a case and charger, at Freshman Orientation on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Parents/guardians must fill out the student device form in Aspen. The form will ask you to select whether your child is taking a district-issued Chromebook or bringing their own device. In addition, the form also asks you to accept the district’s Acceptable Use Policy, which will allow your child access to the school network.
The student device form must be completed in Aspen (the district’s student information system). Once you log into your parent Aspen account, click on Page Directory on the left-hand side, then click on Technology Forms. Please complete the form prior to Freshman Orientation on August 23rd so that there is no delay in giving your child a Chromebook and access to the school network.

Bus Information
Bus route information is available in ASPEN under the Transportation tab. If you are a vocational academy student who does not live within our district, please get in touch with your home school district for your bus route.
Shuttles to Hunterdon County Polytech campuses for half-day courses will begin on the first day of classes at Polytech, August 28, 2024.
Hunterdon County ESC handles our district's transportation services. To contact the Transportation Department, please email Donna Ader at dader@hunterdonesc.org.
3:15 pm activity buses run on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, which will begin running on
September 6. These 3:15 pm routes are different from the regular AM/PM routes and students and parents can view these routes in Aspen, under Page Directory, then Transportation Routes.
| |
|
Attendance Policy
The Attendance website has information on the district's attendance policy, including excused vs. unexcused absences. Click here.
If your child has a medical appointment or other reason for an early dismissal, please follow the procedures for early dismissal. You must submit a request for early dismissal ahead of time, unless in case of emergency.
| | |
|
Annual Health Forms
There are annual health forms that must be completed by parents of all students. The forms must be completed in Aspen before school opens (click on Page Directory, then click on Health Forms). Annual forms are the Emergency Information Form and the Over-The-Counter Medication Form, and any other specific forms that pertain to your student, such as diabetes, epi-pen, or inhaler.
Parents of fall athletes should already have completed the health forms with sports registration. For more information, please visit our health office website: click here.
All freshmen and new students must submit a physical to the health office prior to the opening of school; physicals must be dated within one year of entry to high school.

Contacting Administration
Periodically parents ask, "Who should I contact if an issue exists that affects my child?" Our advice is, to begin with, the teacher, coach, or advisor who is closest to the issue. Faculty and staff email addresses can be found in the staff directory. This step should always be taken prior to using other options. Click here to look up your student's guidance counselor. If however, you believe that a satisfactory response has not been rendered, click here for a list of administrators.

College Fair
Make sure to mark your calendars for our annual College Fair Night, which will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Main Gym. Many colleges, universities, military, and technical schools will be attending. This informative night will feature representatives from these institutions who can assist you in making those postgraduate decisions. A final list of institutions attending will be shared closer to the date of the fair.

Student Activities
At North Hunterdon, we believe that all students should be involved in extra-curricular activities. These activities may include athletic teams, clubs, publications, performing arts, government & leadership and community service. Students who become involved in extra-curricular programs will have a more rewarding and fun-filled high school career.
Students are expected to maintain good academic standing, including attendance and discipline, in order to be eligible to participate in extracurricular programs. Click on this link to access our drug testing policy in regard to participation in clubs.
For a listing of clubs and activities offered, click here. If you have any questions about student activities, please contact Anthony Petraglia, Director of Student Activities, at apetraglia@nhvweb.net or 908-713-4199 ext. 6357.

Food Services
The high school district uses PaySchools for all cafeteria purchases. We are a cashless cafeteria, so a PaySchools account must be set up in order for your child to make purchases in the cafeteria. In order to add your child to the account, you will need to know your child’s high school student ID number, which you can find in Aspen under the Details side tab (ID number starts with their graduation year).
Students will enter their student ID number at the register to make a purchase, and it will deduct money from their PaySchools account. Instructions on creating an account are posted on our Food Services website, https://www.nhvweb.net/foodservices/. The cafeteria price list and menus are also posted on that website.
If your family qualifies for Free and Reduced Meals, please complete the application posted on Food Services website above. Applications must be returned to the district, 1445 State Route 31, Annandale, NJ 08801, Attn: Business Office. Applications must be completed annually.

Student Photos

Re-takes and make-ups will be held on October 10, 2024.
Senior portraits were taken over the summer and makeups and retakes will be taken on October 12th.

Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying
Harassment, intimidation and bullying are illegal and are not tolerated at North Hunterdon High School. We are a community at North, and we expect our students to treat their classmates the way they would like to be treated. Respect for fellow students, faculty members, and the community at large is the expectation we have of our students. Any behavior in contrast to this philosophy is not acceptable, and those who intimidate, bully and/or harass others face stringent disciplinary and legal consequences. To view NHV policy #5512 regarding harassment, intimidation, and bullying, please click here. To report an incident, please click here.

Back to School Night
Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, August 29th, for all grade 9-12 parents. There will only be one Back to School Night.
The program will begin at 6:30 with Period 1. Please print a copy of your student's schedule to bring with you. We will be following blocks 1-8 in order. This will allow you to meet with all of your child's teachers.
If you cannot attend, we will be posting videos from our teachers on our website that provide an overview of their classes. You can watch those videos at any time after August 29th

|
Secure Belongings
Most students who have lost items in school did not lock up their belongings. Do not bring expensive items to school. DO NOT SHARE LOCKERS. If your locker is not working properly, see Mr. John Deutsch, Assistant Principal, for help. If your child does lose something during the school year, please have him/her look in Lost & Found, located in the attendance office.
Students can access their locker information in Aspen. They need to click on My Info top tab, then Reports, and run the NHV Student Locker Information report.
