The camp includes:
- Introducing new students to the gesture method.
- Learning approximately 75 high-frequency words.
- Introducing students to some of the French plays we do in the Junior School.
- Playing some fun language games.

New Family Music Selection - Grade 3-5
The Aberdeen Hall Music Department would like to welcome you to the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Please fill out the supplied Music Selection Form for your student. The options for Grade 3-5 Music are violin or cello. All students will also receive supplemental choral instruction. Violin and cello require time to develop skills for, so please keep in consideration when making your decision that students will be expected to remain on their chosen instrument until the end of Grade 5.
|
|
Please complete and submit the Grade 3-5 Music Selection Form at your earliest convenience.
Also, please make note that the school does not supply each student with an instrument for their class. Students are expected to have their own instrument to use during class and to practice with outside of school.
Renting or purchasing are both options and Matthew Thomas, the school liaison at Wentworth Music in Kelowna, would be happy to guide you through the process if you have any questions about acquiring an instrument.
We do not recommend purchasing an instrument from an online source such as Amazon without a certain level of expertise, as the instrument will not have been given a proper setup by a technician and may be difficult for a student to practice on.

If you have any questions regarding music classes please contact Tom Stinson, Director of Performing Arts.

Summer Mailing
The Summer Mailing is a digital communication that you can expect to receive in early August with information about the first day of school and other important information and upcoming events.
Weekly Newsletters
Starting August , You will receive two email newsletters a week called the 'Friday Courier' (on Fridays) and the 'Tuesday Reminders' (on Tuesdays). These emails are robust and cover all divisions of the school (Preschool, Junior School, Middle School, High School and Athletics).
MySchool
You will also receive messages from your homeroom teacher, specialty teachers or division principals via our student records management software, MySchool. This messaging system is used for targeted emails to specific grade levels or classes (as opposed to messages that need to go to the whole school).
Text Messages
Occasionally, you will receive a text message from our school messaging system (in the case of emergency, or for a last minute schedule change if we need to ensure the message is received by everyone quickly).
Questions about anything in this newsletter can be directed towards our Director of Communications and Marketing, Erin Jones (hello!) at communications@aberdeenhall.com.
