Emergency Forms - Kindergarten - Grade 12

Our Student Records Department is required to keep specific information on file for every student. This includes medical history and information, photo permissions, emergency contacts and general contact information. Please use the form below to provide us with this information.
We are required to have all of this information completed prior to the first day of school. Please complete this form at your earliest convenience.

Bus Registration
Aberdeen Hall services the Kelowna, Lake Country and Vernon areas with six bus routes on a daily basis.

Registration will be available starting the third week of June 2024. Bus seats are secured for the entire school year and reserved on a first come, first served basis.

Please watch for a separate email that will be sent out to all families prior to June 30, 2024, with registration information and instructions regarding the online registration process.

Below are the six preliminary bus routes for the 2024-2025 school year, along with pricing for your review.*

We have researched the possibility of adding a Crawford bus this coming school year. Unfortunately, our numbers of interest do not support the addition at the time.
*Please note that some pick up/drop off locations may be slightly altered over the summer and final schedules will be sent out by the end of August 2024.
If you have bussing questions please contact transportation@aberdeenhall.com.
Junior School
Kindergarten - Grade 5
Optional Kindergarten Gradual Entry

The demands of starting full-time Kindergarten are high, even for children that are used to being at preschool and daycare for a full day. Our gradual entry is designed to enable your child to adapt to being back on a set schedule as well as learn the new routines and expectations of our Kindergarten program before having to adjust to being at school for a full day.

Read about our optional Gradual Entry Program HERE.

AIM French Camp - Grades 2-5
This one day summer camp is geared toward students who are new to the AIM French program. Our goal is to give new students a basic understanding of what our French program involves and help them to be more comfortable in class on their first day of French at Aberdeen Hall.

The camp includes:
- Introducing new students to the gesture method.
- Learning approximately 75 high-frequency words.
- Introducing students to some of the French plays we do in the Junior School.
- Playing some fun language games.

When: Thursday, August 29, 2024 | 9:00am - 12:00pm
School Supply Lists - Grade 4 & 5
The school provides school supplies for K-Grade 3 students. Students in Grade 4 & 5 are asked to bring labeled items (name and grade) with them on the first day of school.
New Family Music Selection - Grade 3-5
The Aberdeen Hall Music Department would like to welcome you to the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Please fill out the supplied Music Selection Form for your student. The options for Grade 3-5 Music are violin or cello. All students will also receive supplemental choral instruction. Violin and cello require time to develop skills for, so please keep in consideration when making your decision that students will be expected to remain on their chosen instrument until the end of Grade 5.
Please complete and submit the Grade 3-5 Music Selection Form at your earliest convenience.

Also, please make note that the school does not supply each student with an instrument for their class. Students are expected to have their own instrument to use during class and to practice with outside of school.

Renting or purchasing are both options and Matthew Thomas, the school liaison at Wentworth Music in Kelowna, would be happy to guide you through the process if you have any questions about acquiring an instrument.
We do not recommend purchasing an instrument from an online source such as Amazon without a certain level of expertise, as the instrument will not have been given a proper setup by a technician and may be difficult for a student to practice on.
If you have any questions regarding music classes please contact Tom Stinson, Director of Performing Arts.
Middle School
Grades 6-8
Bring Your Own Device Information
Aberdeen Hall has a Bring your own Device program that requires students in Grade 6-12 to bring in their laptop for educational use while at school. You can read more about the requirements for these devices below.
New Student Music Selection - Grade 6-7
The Aberdeen Hall Music Department would like to welcome you to the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Please fill out the supplied Music Selection Form for your student. The options for Middle School Music are Guitar (six string, bass), Strings (violin, cello), or Contemporary Mixed Ensemble (multiple instrument options including percussion) and students are free to choose whichever class interests them from this list regardless of past experience. We just ask that they commit to their choice for the duration of the upcoming school year.

If you have any questions regarding music classes please contact Tom Stinson, Director of Performing Arts.
Grade 8 Course Selection
At Aberdeen Hall, Grade 8 students are required to take at least one Music, Arts and ADST elective. Please take some time to discuss the options with your family, and then complete the following form to indicate your preferred choice of elective courses for next year.

Summer Mailing
The Summer Mailing is a digital communication that you can expect to receive in early August with information about the first day of school and other important information and upcoming events.

Weekly Newsletters
Starting August , You will receive two email newsletters a week called the 'Friday Courier' (on Fridays) and the 'Tuesday Reminders' (on Tuesdays). These emails are robust and cover all divisions of the school (Preschool, Junior School, Middle School, High School and Athletics).

MySchool
You will also receive messages from your homeroom teacher, specialty teachers or division principals via our student records management software, MySchool. This messaging system is used for targeted emails to specific grade levels or classes (as opposed to messages that need to go to the whole school).

Text Messages
Occasionally, you will receive a text message from our school messaging system (in the case of emergency, or for a last minute schedule change if we need to ensure the message is received by everyone quickly).

Questions about anything in this newsletter can be directed towards our Director of Communications and Marketing, Erin Jones (hello!) at communications@aberdeenhall.com.
