FALL 2023 MEETING: REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Please fill out the SLR 2023 Registration Form online. Only one registration form per firm is necessary. Meeting registration will close on October 25, 2023.

Please note that Invoices will be emailed directly from Bill.com and will include a link to pay via credit card. Check payments are still acceptable and can be made payable to State Law Resources as usual. Please let Hannah know if you have any questions.

Invoices will be sent out within a few business days following your registration.

HOTEL RESERVATION:

Reserve your hotel room for the Fall Meeting at the Virgin Hotels Nashville!

The room rate is $279/night (+tax). Reservations can be made online or by calling (800) 806-8080 and mentioning the group “State Law Resources Fall Meeting 2023.” The standard room is a “Chamber King,” but we have a limited number of “Chamber 2 Queens” which have two queen beds for family rooms.

Please note the following hotel information and policies:

Check-in: After 3:00 PM

Check-out: Before 12:00 PM

Guarantee Policy - All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.

Cancellation Policy – Reservations canceled within 72 hours of arrival date will be charged first night’s room rate and applicable taxes.

The room block cutoff is October 25, 2023.

MARKETING SUMMIT:

This year SLR will host another Marketing Summit at the Fall Meeting. Marketing specialists from SLR member firms are invited to attend the Marketing Summit on Thursday, November 16 from 12:00-3:00pm to help guide SLR’s future marketing initiatives.

The discounted registration fee for marketing specialists/firm staff is $250 and covers registration for the entire meeting as well as the Marketing Summit. We invite all marketing specialists to stay for the duration of the meeting!

Please note that all invitations must be pre-approved by the Planning.

SPEAKERS:

AI Presentation - We will also have an exciting AI Presentation by Jules White, Associate Dean for Strategic Learning Programs, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Vanderbilt University. Jules is leading Vanderbilt’s Initiative the Future of Learning and Generative AI. She also has a Coursera course on “Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT” that has 80,000 students. It teaches how to use these tools without any prior background or experience. Jules will introduce the capabilities and intuition behind how these tools work — and how to leverage them effectively.

SLR MASTER CLIENT LIST: 2023 UPDATE

SLR is currently updating the master list of clients represented by our member firms. This list will only be made available to SLR members through the password-protected, SLR Member Connect Area on the SLR website.

The purpose of compiling the master list of clients is to provide increased opportunities for business development and collaboration among members. The list will allow members to see if prospective clients are currently represented by any fellow SLR members that could assist with making an introduction or referral.

In order to participate, please submit your lobbying or governmental affairs clients. SLR will only add client company names to the master list, and will not distribute any client contact information. Please ensure that you have appropriate permissions to disclose your clients’ company names before submitting them.

If, for any reason, you would prefer that your firm does not, or no longer appears in the client list document, please let Hannah know to decline participation.

SLR REGIONAL MEETINGS

SLR Hosted Two Successful Regional Meetings in September!

Eight members of the Southern Regional Committee met in Dallas, TX on September 7-8th.

After a fabulous meal at Javier's Gourmet Mexicano Restaurant on Thursday, the group met at the Dallas office of McGlinchey Stafford PLLP, Friday morning. After an engaging presentation from Skip Braziel, VP, Governmental Affairs at Prudential Financial, they had a productive roundtable discussion, and shared beneficial conversations and insights about regional issues.

Eleven members of the Northeastern/Mid-Atlantic Committee met in Washington, DC on September 7-8th, with a bonus member joining from ND!

The group had dinner on the Georgetown waterfront, and reconvened Friday morning at Van Ness Feldman LLP. Joined by clients from the Consumer Data Industry Association and the Motion Picture Association, the committee had excellent discussion and presentations, and enjoyed the opportunity to connect.
