Storyteller Children's Center
35 Years of Strengthening Families
Looking Ahead: A Message from the Executive Director
Dr. Gabriella Garcia
Storyteller Children's Center offers students a safe, trauma-informed curriculum that nurtures cognitive and social-emotional development. We are excited to announce that 29 of our students will be promoted to kindergarten in July. We look forward to welcoming 36 new students in the fall for a total of 74 students this school year, with the addition of our new toddler classroom and expanded services to include Storyteller at Transition House, where we will take over operations of the infant/toddler program. This expansion will allow us to support children and their families at an earlier age. I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to work at Storyteller Children's Center. I look forward to seeing our organization's growth and continued impact on the children and their families!

Storyteller's 35th-Anniversary Gala
After a 5 year hiatus Storyteller Children's Center annual gala is back!

Join us Friday, October 6th at the Hilton Beachfront Resort as we celebrate 35 years of strengthening families within our community.

Enjoy a magical evening, tropical drinks and dancing under the stars to your favorite 80's hits as we throw it back to the year Storyteller was founded, 1988! Leave your leg warmers at home because this evening requires serious glitter and glam!

We are especially excited because this year we are honoring Tiffany Foster for her steadfast commitment and support! Tiffany began her involvement at Storyteller in 2009 and has served as Board President, chaired countless galas and is currently our Advisory Board Chair. Her corporate savvy and innovative spirit have helped Storyteller expand and grow, while her charisma and compassion have inspired many others to make a difference in our community.

We hope you will join us for this celebratory evening as a sponsor. Your support helps provide nutritious meals, on site behavioral health consultation and early childhood education to nearly 100 vulnerable children each year, including support services for their families. Together we can break the cycle of poverty and trauma within our community.

If you have any questions please reach out to Haunna Tomas, Marketing and Development Coordinator at haunna@storytellercenter.org

Lunch with Love Recap
Dr. Gabriella Garcia, Executive Director and Michael Wasserman, Board President at the Lunch with Love event.
On April 13th, 2023 Storyteller Children's Center hosted their annual Lunch with Love event at the Santa Barbara Women's Club. Over 200 people were in attendance including; Mayor Randy Rowse, Police Chief Kelly Gordon, County Supervisor Laura Capps, and many more. During the luncheon guests were shown a compilation of photographs of Storyteller's children and a testimonial from a former parent. "It's the safest eight hours some of these kids get in a day", the parent says. In the testimonial the parent spoke about the impact that Storyteller had on his son, and how grateful he is for the organization's dedication. He hopes one day his son will be able to pay forward the love and kindness that Storyteller has shown them. Dr. Gabriella Garcia concludes the evening by explaining, Storyteller's goal is to provide a tuition free preschool for children to grow and develop social and emotional skills so they are on par with their peers and prepared for kindergarten.
Storyteller at Transition House
Pictured above is the infant care center, soon to be named Storyteller at Transition House.
On July 1st Storyteller Children's Center will expand its services to the infant/toddler program at Transition House, ages six weeks to two years old. The goal of this partnership is to reach children at an earlier age and provide emotional and social support for the children and families struggling with trauma and housing and food insecurity.
