FALL 2023 MEETING: REGISTRATION



Please fill out the SLR 2023 Registration Form online. Only one registration form per firm is necessary. Meeting registration will close on October 25, 2023.

Please note that invoices will be emailed directly from Bill.com and will include a link to pay via credit card. Check payments are still acceptable and can be made payable to State Law Resources as usual. Please let Hannah know if you have any questions.

Invoices will be sent out within a few business days following your registration. 

HOTEL RESERVATION: DEADLINE APPROACHING

Reserve your hotel room for the Fall Meeting at the Virgin Hotels Nashville!

The room rate is $279/night (+tax). Reservations can be made online or by calling (800) 806-8080 and mentioning the group “State Law Resources Fall Meeting 2023.” The standard room is a “Chamber King,” but we have a limited number of “Chamber 2 Queens” which have two queen beds for family rooms.

Please note the following hotel information and policies:

Check-in: After 3:00 PM

Check-out: Before 12:00 PM

Guarantee Policy - All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.

Cancellation Policy – Reservations canceled within 72 hours of arrival date will be charged first night’s room rate and applicable taxes.

The room block cutoff is October 25, 2023.

MARKETING SUMMIT:

This year SLR will host another Marketing Summit at the Fall Meeting. Marketing specialists from SLR member firms are invited to attend the Marketing Summit on Thursday, November 16 from 12:00-3:00pm to help guide SLR’s future marketing initiatives.

The discounted registration fee for marketing specialists/firm staff is $250 and covers registration for the entire meeting as well as the Marketing Summit. We invite all marketing specialists to stay for the duration of the meeting!

SPEAKERS:

AI Presentation - We will also have an exciting AI Presentation by Jules White, Associate Dean for Strategic Learning Programs, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Vanderbilt University. Jules is leading Vanderbilt’s Initiative the Future of Learning and Generative AI. She also has a Coursera course on “Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT” that has 80,000 students. It teaches how to use these tools without any prior background or experience. Jules will introduce the capabilities and intuition behind how these tools work — and how to leverage them effectively.

FALL 2023 MEETING: DINE AROUNDS

Due to restrictive cancellation policies for a number of restaurants in Nashville, we require some additional action from attendees to ensure a smooth and pleasant dining experience at the Fall Meeting. We have a great dinner planned for the entire group on Friday, but your participation is required 1) to reserve a dine-around on Thursday, and the Planning Committee has decided to limit the number of SLR reservations for Saturday night so 2) we ask that you make your own Saturday dinner reservations.

1) The link to sign up for a Thursday Night Dine Around is HERE. Please include your guests and/or any clients you are bringing.

2) In addition to signing up for a Thursday night dine-around, we ask that you please plan to make your own reservation on Saturday night. SLR has a limited number of reservations available for this night, but these will fill quickly. Reservations are booked rapidly in Nashville, so we have a detailed list of recommendations and suggest reserving a table, even if you cancel it later. Most restaurants have a free cancellation policy to 24 hours in advance of your reservation. The Closing Reception on Saturday, November 18, is being held from 6-7 pm, so we would recommend any time after 7 pm. 

FALL 2023 MEETING: OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

We are offering sign-ups for several museums and the opportunity to tour Downtown Nashville on a pedal pub for a Saturday afternoon activity.

If you would like to sign up for the pedal pub, we need a minimum of 8 people, and can fit up to 15. Price ranges on group size ($45-$65 + drinks). You must sign up for this activity by October 27.

If you are interested in the museums, most are self-guided and in close proximity to one another. By signing up for a museum, we can send you off in a group together, and I can assist with securing tickets, if needed.
