2024 IRC National Championship
Poole
For the first time, the GBR IRC National Championship in 2024 will not take place from the Royal Ocean Race Club’s base in Cowes but will form part of the International Paint Poole Regatta. The 26th edition of the IRC Nationals, one of the major annual regattas for the IRC international rating system operated by the RORC, will take place on Poole Bay over 25-27 May 2024. The IPP Regatta organisers are pleased to offer 2023 Regional Champions free entry at the 2024 IRC National Championship.

IRC Two-Handed European Championship
|
|
|
2023 will see an IRC two-handed European Championship. With two-handed racing in France and the UK expanding rapidly, RORC and UNCL have combined forces to award the title of Two-Handed European Champion to the boat that has the best combined score of the La Trinite – Cowes Race on the 2nd July and the Cowes – St Malo Race starting on the 7th July. The prizes will be awarded in St Malo on the 9th July.

IRC East Coast Championship
Ramsgate Week

Ramsgate Week (6-11 Aug) will once again host the 2023 East Coast Championships which will take place from Wednesday to Friday as a separate series within the main Ramsgate Week series.
After a challenging day's racing between the North and South Forelands you are within a five minute walk from your berth to the Royal Temple Yacht Club where you can relax with fellow competitors whilst enjoying the very best in warm and friendly hospitality all under one roof.

IRC Channel Islands Championship

Now in its 10th year, we are pleased to announce that the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship will, again, be a major feature of the cruiser/racer programme. Scheduled for 8-10 September, the programme will follow the established format of three days’ racing in coastal waters and in the beautiful natural arena of St Aubin’s Bay along with post-racing social events each evening.

Welsh IRC National Championship

Plas Heli in conjunction with Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club and The Royal Dee Yacht Club, is once again delighted to host the IRC Welsh National Championships this year from 12-14 May.
We look forward to welcoming competitors from our fellow Celtic nations and the UK. Racing will consist of windward/leewards and fixed marks/short coastal.
With little commercial shipping, weak tides coupled with breathtaking views of Eryri (Snowdonia) and a vibrant social programme, a great three day event is planned and we invite entries at: www.ircwelshchamps.com

IRC Southern Championship

Weymouth Sailing Club are looking forward to hosting the IRC Southern Championships again on 27/28 May. We hope to offer a competitive weekend of racing in a number of IRC divisions in the Olympic sailing waters of Weymouth Bay.
Weymouth offers a lively array of restaurants, pubs and all the attractions of a seaside town. With only minutes between the harbourside and the race course you are sure to get the best of both.

IRC Bristol Channel Championship
Portishead & Cardiff
|
The Shanghai Cup, incorporating the Bristol Channel IRC Championships, will consist of racing over two weekends, with the first weekend taking place in Portishead on 10/11 June 2023 and the second weekend taking place in Cardiff on 24/25 June 2023. The regatta will also include a Portishead to Cardiff passage race after racing on the first Sunday. There will be social events planned in both Portishead and in Cardiff on the racing weekends.

IRC South West Championship
Falmouth
|
In 2023 Falmouth Week (4-12 Aug) will host the SW IRC Championship as part of the 3-Day Bay Fleet series from Thursday to Saturday, comprising varied racing in Falmouth Bay for IRC yachts with a mix of regatta and championship courses.
To complement the racing there is a comprehensive shoreside social programme, with a daily prizegiving held at one of the six local clubs – Helford River SC, Mylor YC, Restronguet SC, Royal Cornwall YC, St Mawes SC and Flushing SC.

IRC National Championship
Cowes
|
The 2023 National Championship will take place in Cowes over the weekend of the 23-25 June. Tightly banded classes will compete to win class prizes and the overall winner will be crowned IRC National Champion. Eight races are scheduled over the three days with a mixture of W/L and round the cans racing.

IRC Two-Handed National Championship

This year the GBR Two-Handed National Champion will be decided on the results of two offshore races. The first is the Castle Rock race on the 2nd September and the second race starts a week later on the 9th September. The two results are combined to determine the overall winner in this highly competitive fleet.

IRC Scottish Championship
Tarbert, Loch Fyne
|
Scottish Series, soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary, returns to its usual place and time at Tarbert, Loch Fyne on the late May Bank holiday 26-29 May. With the event being held over 4 days rather than just a weekend it is the perfect opportunity to host the IRC Scottish Championship 2023.
Come and enjoy the mix of great sailing in the waters of Loch Fyne together with the sociability of a West Coast Highland welcome.

IRC Inland Championship

the 6th IRC Inland Championship will be contested on Lake Windermere in Cumbria, hosted by the Windermere Cruising Association. Racing takes place over 8 weekends between November and March. The standard is high, but the event is friendly and sporting.
