In demonstration of our dedication to the AIA 2030 Commitment, our Sustainability Team focused on Energy & Carbon Emissions reduction, Training & Education and Material Transparency initiatives. During 2021 we conducted training and education sessions to help our staff better understand carbon emissions, EUI (Energy Use Intensity) and the capabilities of the cove.tool and initiated the integration of the cove.tool into our firmwide design process. We also developed and implemented an evaluation system for our material library to assess specifications and third-party verifications of a material’s sustainability based on material health, energy and carbon emissions or a holistic approach to sustainability that considers both environmental impacts and health & wellness.
Justice. Equity. Diversity. Inclusion.
Amenta Emma was recognized with a J.E.D.I. Certificate as one of the 13 firms who took part in the AIA Connecticut 2021 J.E.D.I. Challenge. This recognition is given to firms who strive to provide equitable, diverse and inclusive environments within their firms and their communities.

One of this year's accomplishments we are excited about is the creation of a Virtual Studio Tour video showcasing the various aspects of what an architect does, and the development of a K-12 Program and partnership with the Kennelly School in Hartford, CT, to provide awareness and exposure to the architecture profession at an early age.
Emerging Professional Friendly Firm
We are proud to announce that Amenta Emma has been recognized by the AIA New England as an "Emerging Professional Friendly Firm" for our commitment to supporting and advancing Emerging Professionals in the region.
