Announcing The Jazz Club of Sarasota's 38th Music Season!
Dear Jazz Club of Sarasota members and friends, it is my sincere pleasure to share with you a truly stunning new season of
Jazz
here in Sarasota. I think you will find that this season continues many of our most popular events while also introducing a number of new venues and innovative programs.
|
|
October Marks The Beginning
|
|
The season kicks off on Wednesday, October 18, with our annual
"Oktoberfest Jazz Trolley & Pub Crawl"
! This year's Crawl will include musicians and vocalists performing at seven of our favorite venues. Later that week
the Club's very popular "
Jazz At Two"
series will begin on Friday October 20th with a rousing Jam Session that will include many of the wonderful local musicians featured over the 22 weekly performances in the series. We end the first month of the season with an exciting new Jazz Club partnership with the
"Giving Hunger The Blues Music Festival"
on Saturday, October 28. We are proud to be co-producing the festival's first ever
Jazz On The Bay Stage
and to lend our support to this important benefit festival that supports the needs of children in our community.

|

Django
Burns Court Cinema
|
French film about the legendary jazz
guitarist Django Reinhardt and his struggles in German-occupied Paris.
Django Reinhardt was one of the most brilliant pioneers of European jazz and the father of Gypsy Swing. "Django" grippingly portrays one chapter in the musician's eventful life and is a poignant tale of survival. Constant danger, flight and the atrocities committed against his family could not make him stop playing.
