2016 is here! It is going to be an Exciting Year!

Welcome to Spring

in Saskatchewan

It is hard to believe it has been almost 3 months since the CRA Prairie Show in Edmonton. Thank you to all of those that made the trip. The weather turned out to be very nice and it made for a great drive to Edmonton.

It has been a number of years since I have been able to attend the show and not have anything to do but just enjoy the show. I have to say the organizing committee did a great job of making their first show in Edmonton a great success. Everything from the Double Tree (Host Hotel) to the Northlands Convention Center were great venues that offered a great change of scenery.

The Prairie Show was well attended. Over 260 people attended the Saturday Night Banquet & Awards Ceremony. New in 2016 was the addition of the CRA Award of Merit. This award is for leaders in the Association that have made significant contributions that have changed the Canadian Rental Industry in a positive manner.

Doug Mitchell and Jim Johnson were the 1st two recipient's from Western Canada to receive this award. These award were accepted by Doron Broadfoot and TJ Johnson. Also presented on Saturday night was the Doug Mitchell "Supplier of the Year" Award. The 2016 recipient was Andrew Wilson from Atlas Copco.

Over the years, many people who have attended the show are aware of the prestigious "Dickey Doo" Award". The award is sponsored by Northland Rentals. Thanks to Brad for letting this award continue on for many years. Last years recipient, Doug (no sky) Krasowski, made a very emotional and sometimes colorful speech as he presented the 2016 Dickey Doo Award to Geoff Allen of Genie Industries.

The Saturday Night entertainment was a big hit with the Dueling Pianos. They had the crowd literally on their feet until the early morning on Sunday.

A Big "Thank You" to the many Sponsors, Suppliers and Attendees that made the 2016 CRA Prairie Regional Show a Success!

Here are some highlights.

Have a Great Summer Everyone!

Another Great CRA Sask Local Event

25 people from our Sask Local attended a Sask Rush Game on April 16. It was a sold out night at SaskTel Center. With 15,000 in attendance, the Rush secured 1st Place for their division. It was a fast paced game with lots of action and some serious hitting.

The Sask Local is planning on making this Event a yearly tradition.

Thank You, Jill Holtsman for making all of the arrangements for this CRA Sask Local Event.

Make sure you watch out for Future Events to attend from the CRA Sask Local coming your way!

Keep your Store Atmosphere a Great Place to Be for Staff & Customers

We have all worked at jobs that we were less than excited to get up in the mornings and go to...... this is an awful feeling.

It is more pleasurable, and less stressful to go to a work environment that is filled with positivity and enjoyment.

A positive work environment is not only important for your physical, mental and emotional health, but is also important for the results that will be produced for the company.

The better a person feels at work, the more likely they will take pride in their job activities and be loyal towards their place of employment.

Here are some tips to help make your Job or Business a Great Place to be.

Make sure you are doing a job that you enjoy

Let your Staff/Customers know their ideas are valued

Let your Staff/Customers know you appreciated them

Make sure Management is approachable

Recognized people when they do good work. A pat on the back or a Thank you goes a Long Way.

Make sure Staff/Management look forward to going to work. In the end this will be reflected to your Customers

Work/Businesses should be a fun place to go. Customers appreciate a Business that shows that staff like coming to work.

Send us some of the Great Experiences you have had with your Staff or Customers

Recently at The Rent-It Store, Staff & Customers were visited by Glenn Suitor, past Saskatchewan Roughrider. Fun was had by all. Jerseys were signed and I was presented my own Special Jersey.
