As most of you would know, my admiration and fondness for Mount Mary's wines is well publicised.  I have often said that Mount Mary is pretty much my favourite Australian producer, and alongside the likes of Bindi, Giaconda and Cullen (amongst others) I believe Mount Mary is - pound for pound - one of this country's greatest wine producers.

When you add to the mix the magical 2015 vintage - which similarly is one of the single-best vintages the Yarra Valley has ever seen - it's not difficult to imagine just how good the wines should be.

Incredibly, the wines are even better than this.  The flagship Cabernet blend 'Quintet' is, or at least will become with maturity - the best vintage yet for this famous label.  And I feel well-placed to make this call, given I've had ever single vintage of Quintet yet produced save 1978.

Likewise, I cannot recall a finer Chardonnay produced under Mount Mary's label than this 2015.  Fine and pure yet flavoursome, it is utterly pleasing.

As for the Pinot Noir, well it's quite telling that James Halliday awarded it as his top-rated and best Pinot Noir in Australia this year.

Finally, the oft-forgotten Triolet, a dry white Bordeaux-style blend, is right in the groove, bright and refreshing and perfectly in style.

Quantities are limited for these magical wines.  They're not inexpensive, but they are amongst the best wines produced in Australia, and have decades-long track records of excellence as pedigree.  Do not miss these incredible wines - particularly the Cabernets 'Quintet'.
