Listening Sessions about the Proposed 8th Principle:

We want to hear from you!

As WBUUC contemplates adoption of the 8th Principle, we are seeking input from all members and friends of the WBUUC congregation. What will this mean for you, and for WBUUC? Your input will provide valuable perspectives to inform voting on this Principle, as well as future actions, if adopted.

The proposed 8th Principle: “Journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”

Listening Sessions:

Thursday, March 2 at 7pm | In-person & Zoom

Sunday, March 5 at 12:30pm | In-person & Zoom

Offset Short Vacation Travel Too!

Every carbon offset contribution to WBUUC’s Climate Action Fund helps pay for our solar addition. Some members will offset intercontinental or continental vacation flights. But more of us take short vacations. We drive to Duluth to sightsee, Whitewater State Park to camp, or Mankato to visit Grandma. Enter your mileage in the carbon calculator and offset these short vacation trips. No Vacation trips? Donate any amount to the Climate Action Fund to help add solar collectors on the church roof. And please click Submit so we can count the total number of participants.

This Sunday's Special Collection: Local Food Shelves

This Sunday, the Social Justice special collection is for our local food shelves – the White Bear Area Food Shelf, the Mahtomedi Food Shelf, and the food shelf in the Resource and Support Center at Century College. Food insecurity continues to be a huge problem in our area. Your help is definitely needed. WBUUC collects money for food shelves each February and donates it in March when Minnesota FoodShare matches the dollars donated. Minnesota FoodShare’s motto is “Increase Food Access; Build Strong Communities”. What could be better in fighting food insecurity than to have our donations doubled? Feeding America says that every dollar donated can help secure and distribute 12 pounds of food — that's about 10 meals for families experiencing food insecurity. No donation is too small to make a big difference.

You can donate in three ways:

  • Online: http://bit.ly/give-to-wbuuc - indicate Food
  • Send a check or leave a check in the office lock box with Food on the memo line.
  • Text to Give with text to 651-615-5551 and the “amount Food" (e.g., if you want to give $25, put this in the text: 25 Food)
