Dear Students and Families,
I’m pleased to share that Kehillah is launching an International Student Program for the 2024-25 school year!
Creating this program is an exciting opportunity for our current and future students. It expands our commitment to a holistic education that prepares our students for success in an increasingly globalized world. Furthermore, with its novel local homestay component, the International Student Program also positions Kehillah as one of the first schools in the Bay Area to accept international students whose parents live abroad.
Mandarin teacher Hope Tsai has graciously agreed to serve as the program’s advisor, and on March 1, Hope and I will be heading to China to recruit students in Shanghai and Shenzhen. As the program grows, we plan to visit Israel, South Korea, and Jewish communities around the world.
I hope you will join me in welcoming international students with open arms. Together, we can help them settle in and feel comfortable in our kehillah, where we can learn with and from each other.
Sincerely,
| |

Dr. Dave Weiner
Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management

Trip to the Stanford Psychology Department
Our school counselor, Sarah Lesser, recently took students Alex Kim, Sahana Santhanam, Ariella Brodsy, Carol Zeng, Inara Baker-Malone, and Ali Gordon, who are part of our Psychology Club, to visit the Stanford Psychology Department. Yochai Shavit, the Director of Research at the Stanford Center on Longevity, hosted the group.
They toured the department, including visiting where Professor Philip Zimbardo conducted his famous prison experiment, and learned about the history. They also sat in on a department meeting and heard a presentation about a postdoctoral student’s research.
The students were amazingly attentive and respectful. They asked some great questions and got the Stanford researchers thinking in new directions!
