Winter Fun....

Skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park began November 18th. Admission is free, but online reservation tickets are required. Snacks and hot drinks are available, and DCASE presents free skating lessons (reservations required) from 9 -10 AM on most Saturdays and Sundays for beginner and intermediate ice skating and hockey skills.

The City of Chicago’s Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) provides small businesses and property owners with reimbursable grants for permanent building improvement costs using local Tax Increment Financing (TIF) revenues.  SomerCor is the program administrator contracted by the Chicago Department of Planning and Development.

From the Illinois Retail Merchants Association - Mandatory Labor Posters

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued new posters. Employers with 15 or more employees are required to display the posters in their workplaces. For your convenience, IRMA has provided links to the posters in both English and Spanish. Additionally, the EEOC encourages employers to post the notice digitally on their websites if they have employees who work remotely.

The Illinois Secure Choice Act was passed into law in 2019 and requires businesses that have been in operation for two or more years to offer employees an individual retirement plan. Businesses who do not offer a savings plan will be required to enroll in the state's Secure Choice Savings Program which requires a minimum 3% payroll deduction.
